Description
Pan was an ordinary boy, practicing to become a mage's apprentice. He lived at home, and worked for his parents. Until the day his family is attacked by a rogue necromancer and killed. Pan is kidnapped by the mage for his affinity for magic, and in a bizarre ritual, Pan's consciousness is transferred into a dungeon stone and bound by the necromancer to serve him and create an army of skeletons.
Now Pan has to find a way to escape the magical clutches of the rogue mage, and if he can accomplish that, survive.

- Redroajs1Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's extremely hard to get a dungeon story right. Of the many attempts at dungeon stories that I've read, I've seen that most either are very similar to one another or are poorly written. This one is definitely a very unique dungeon story and is also exceedingly well written. Definitely one of the best dungeon stories out there! :)
- Red_FauxRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Love the hell outa this. Great dungeon story. The detail in the floor and monster creation is sensational. No boring start, but not rushed either -perfect pace. On par with The Divine Dungeon and, in my opinion, superior to The Slime Dungeon.
- SusurrusRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Loving it so far!
only started it last night and couldn't put it down till I'd devoured the whole 17 chapters you had at the time.
Cant wait to see how Pan evolved the dungeon or what type of monster/beast he will have for the new floor!
cheers and keep up the good work! - KirlicRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have a hard time finding awesome dungeon stories like this please continue If there was any grammar mistakes i didnt notice them. But the sotry is really good and i like how Pan acually acts like how i think a dungeon would, hating any being that dares com into thier domain.
- loregramRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This story has a much better start than most other "I'm now a dungeon" stories on RRL and on novelupdates.
Like other reviewers said, there's no annoying pixies or dungeon guides which happen to be the opposite gender than that of the dungeon, resulting in this SUPER annoying foreplay or basically "playing house" between the dungeon and the pixie.
Also, this story for now focuses on world building (dungeon building) and knowledge accumulation rather than "Omg I want to fraternize with humans so I need humanoid monsters (read basically human but the author tried to make them "cooler" by saying they are not human...but they are human for all intensive purposes)." This leads to a rational MC who is quite even-keeled which is quite wonderful considering the other types of MC's there are. - Cyan HartRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0By making our Mc bound to the necromacer that killed him you've given our Mc a solid goal to strive to, now getting stronger is simply a means to and end and this has make your story better than most of the dungeon type LitRPG. also one of your strong points is world building it feels realistic, by focusing solely on our mc we get intimate watching him grow up as we discover his new abilities with him, it felt like a worthy accomplishment. that said i'll be looking forward to the history of this fantasy world!
Note that this review I made is only valid till chap 5 cause I havent read the rest yet, If this story continous to deliver I probably would not updated this review, but if the quality drops I would probably would'nt update it either. 😂😂 - HazenrageRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Impressive story, very good. However the update rate is horrendous.. :/
- NecamijatRoyal Road★★★ 3.0The Bound Dungeon started out strong. The premise which could've been similar to any of the umteenth other dungeon stories somehow managed to pull through and be quite distinct, although I haven't read many other stories to judge.
The early chapters are great. Great style, likeable personality, no gods or excessive or imposed mechanics that these kinds of fics like to use. Even the side character POVs in the start are well done.
The grammar is well done, with a hint of typos here and there, but it's perfectly readable.
However, at a certain point, the story becomes dull. Paragraphs upon paragraphs of information that only pertains how the dungeon improves a bug, or a deer, or a fox. The interspersed action is told almost lifelessly, sapping any vigour or elation from the parts that were supposed to be fast and active.
Then, there's the side character POV in the later parts, which seems to hold little purpose (or connection to the main 'character') so far, and the ever present lack of interaction in the way of dialogue.
Majority of the chapters are pages upon pages of descriptions, with only a line or two of dialogue, if at all. And the biggest hurdle is that you can't put dialogue there, since those same pages contain nothing but descriptions and characteristics.
Sure, the style of said descriptions is well done, but in the end, I found myself skipping paragraphs simply because when you call something a Stone Centipede, I don't really require an encyclopaedia level knowledge on how it's made.
Also, there seem to be some pacing issues, where the narration would be about some event or progress that happened over weeks, completely ignoring the fact that a mere chapter ago, development was done over hours.
Overall, I'd recommend this story to those that are looking to improve their descriptions and world building. For those that enjoy more character-focused stories, I'd suggest you keep looking, unless this fiction changes hugely. - HarshbrownsRoyal Road★★★ 2.5I'm not sure what else this story can really do. It's true that it started out a bit differently than other dungeon stories, but it seems to have gotten into a repetitive pattern. Even before chapter 19, the chapters describing the dungeon designing were monotonous and a chore to read, while the other perspectives were nice.
However, it seems that the story is only moving towards "Dungeon master works on his dungeon" chapters and "Some arrogant person goes into the dungeon and gets what's coming to him".
I would almost recommend not reading this so you don't get disappointed by what the early chapters end up becoming. - EvonixRoyal Road★★★ 2.5Pros: Well written, little repitition, nice descriptions, creative, worldbuilding beyond a generic fantasy world that makes some sense in the context of RPG mechanics, depth, quality fight scenes that don't take up too much, professional feel.
Cons: Poor sense of scale especially when it comes to time and to a degree with economics, absurd death rate due to people's lack of self preservation instinct(especially off screen) means death rapidly looses impact, OP protagonist, not enough detail goes into the jaguar and river levels(particularly the jaguar level only has ~4 creatures), main character's motivations could use work, worldbuilding could use refinment and a critical eye, gets somewhat less creative as it goes on although it has a high standard and has a bit of a resurgence with the desert level. dificult to sympathise with the MC or his conflicts.
There are other things for both lists but can't think of them off the top of my head.
