- Justin KaplowitzRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0After scrolling through the long recently updated books list, I found this one. I'll be honest, prior to reading it, I was not expecting much. However, with the author's amazing word play and encaptivating writing, after reading a few chapters of this book, I was truly greatful to have found and read it!
- LilleneRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a fun (if occasionally creepy) SF story. Despite the fact that April 14 keeps repeating, this is NOT a loop story - time moves forward for everyone... though perhaps not everything. Why and how... well, those are the questions the students need to answer.
Chase continually jokes while under pressure; it works for him and adds a note of levity to the story.
Also worth noting: this story is complete. - Pinaz993Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I really love me some sci-fi, and a good mystery is always welcome in my book. This fiction has both of these in spades, as well as a fantastic variety of action, and great characters. But it also has something that I don't normally like in a story.
I have seen a few attempts at romance that came off awkward or forced. One in particular stands out in my memory as having come from nowhere, and utterly destroying my interest in the story. This tale is not guilty of either of these faults. Moments of romance here come across as honest, pure, and healthy. I would gladly read more from this author, even if they decided that they wanted more romantic content. They have earned my trust in that way.
A quick word about the ending. Some might not like it, but cannot say the same about myself. The ending, while slightly unconventional, is cleanly foreshadowed in a way that preserves the mystery, and more than makes up for it's somewhat abrupt nature with how well it rounds out the story.
So, consider this your invitation. Come, and join us on a wild ride. Please fasten your restraint bars, tightly, and keep all limbs inside the aurora at all times. I promise, it'll be the chase of a lifetime. - TNTeadybearsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It’s nice and short but not shallow. Touches on some interesting ideas and does it in a not bullshit way. Nice to finally see a story on here that isn’t like half filler but still able to give context. Overall pretty good and would recommend for a short but satisfying read.
