How should I describe this story? This is exactly how I write stories too lol. Tight prose, excellent descriptions and vibrant imagery. This story has it all. I particularly relate to and like the style, I think we can be good friends.
The grammar is near impeccable if not perfect. I could not spot any errors within the story itself. It is great to read such amazing and error free writing. I really enjoy such great storytelling and prose. Your execution of the characters and their narrative is masterful and concise.
Characters bring with them a depth that is as deep as the Pacific Ocean. They have great and distinct personalities and they are relatable as well as real. The Temple Guardian is a slice of life harem story about a shut-in named Ryo who must travel to his grandfather's old, isolated temple and restore it to its former glory. As he works to achieve this end, though, supernatural forces begin inserting themselves into his previously uncomplicated life...
Style: Wolfgang's style is pleasant and easy to parse. This work does little to obstruct the reader's enjoyment of its world and characters, which seems appropriate for the genre and tone--Ryo's problems are hardly epic in scale, and evocative language is largely reserved for descriptions of the countryside and the physical traits of the MC's companions.
All in all, the style is suitable for the material. Sentences can get a little repetitive at times (sometimes literally featuring repititions of the same phrase at multiple points in the sentence) but this does not overly impact the reading experience. The prose's charm and capacity for helping the reader form mental pictures overwhelms this slight deficiency.
Story: My problems with the story are primarily limited to this category. By and large, the main thrust of the plot is fun and low-pressure. It's fun to ride along with Ryo's inner monologue as he struggles to embrace his new life. However, in a slice of life story I consider external consistency--the ability of the reader to map the characters' experiences to their own--to be of particular importance. And The Temple Guardian neglects it at times.
For example, a few chapters in, the MC walks into town from his grandfather's remote temple. The reader is then compelled to believe that this consummate homebody, who hasn't eaten in about a day, walks for roughly 24 hours straight to get into town. He leaves in the morning, arrives at night, and is eating breakfast in town a few paragraphs later after being given a brief tour by another character. Since these nighttime hours are not accounted for in the text, we are forced to assume he walked for all that time, without

OVERALL: A nice, fluffy story about a guy trapped in the sticks with a bunch of hot babes.
STYLE: The prose here is light, fluid, and easy to read. There aren't any overly complicated passages or long establishing exposition dumps to gum up your reading, and the events flow along at a nice pace. I particularly like the strong narration and how its used to characterize our main character, Ryo.
STORY: A guy gets saddled with maintaining his family's rural shrine in exchange for a lifelong inheritance. The downside is that the shrine is a ruin in the middle of nowhere, the upside is that there's plenty of attractive women around to ogle and give a helping hand. The story here isn't anything groundbreaking or thought provoking, but its a perfect fit for the kind of story this is. Its simple with a strong setting, easy to follow tropes, and plenty of potential for ecchi moments (the more spicy of which require a patreon subscription to access). As the story goes on we also get more depth and a bit of mystery, but I'll refrain from spoiling. I'd say the only gripe I have is how quickly the MC went head over for the first girl he encounters, going so far as to yearn for her that very night.
GRAMMAR: There's a few typos here and there but nothing worth subtracting points. If anything its mostly phonetic substitutions that anyone could make when in the haze of writing.
CHARACTER: Our characters fall into fairly defined tropes. The average faceless MC that loves gawking at pretty ladies, the first bombshell heroine that's responsible and willing to lend a helping hand, a diminutive ball of energy with a voice like a loudspeaker, and even a supernatural figure. The only issue I have is that our MC is very lacking in description in terms of appearance, but I guess that's kind of a standard for the genre. Either way the cast are easy to understand and you'll be able to anticipate their actions easily.

The story starts by introducing us to the MC, a troubling young man, and his brother, quickly introducing us to their family dynamics and giving the MC a reason to go to the main location of the story, the Temple. His dear grandfather has died, and now the MC must honor his last wishes, meet new friends, and maybe even find a new purpose in life. But while everything looks fine, something strange lurks in the shadows of the old temple...
I found the story to be a very relaxing read. The worldbuilding is done very well, easily introducing us to the world without dropping any info dumps on the reader. The small everyday challenges of the MC make for quite a read, as the MC himself comes off as a rather interesting fellow, and you wish to see him better. Elements of fantasy are woven just right into the story, hinting at bigger events on the horizon without detracting from the main story. Five stars for the story from me.
Style. Some events sometimes go way too fast, but at the same time, I never felt lost during the reading. The story itself is told from a first-person POV and follows only the MC for now. I have no major complaints against the style and rate it four and a half stars.
Grammar. I am a non-native English speaker, but I have not found serious mistakes in the text. There are a few mistakes here and there, but they don't break the overall flow of the story, and the author fixes them as they go. Four and a half stars for the effort.
Characters. Excelently done. The MC is far from flawless, yet he comes across as a very likeable person who tries to stay a good human being and have fun. He has believable hobbies and aspirations; his struggle feels real, and his newfound purpose in life gives the reader a sense of happiness for the MC's success. The rest of the cast is colorful enough to keep us engaged in the story.

Opening.
I mean with a title like that…. Eeep.
Some great lines in here between the brothers though, even with what comes. Punched me in the face… even though it’s the dang title…. I did get a little confused between the both of them at first, Ryo and Ryu….
Story.
Perfectly does what it says it will and it’s a great first chapter and we’re just off, off to the temple. It’s a lovely slice of life where two brothers obviously have a bit of a bad past, with losing their parents and then their grandfather. Really sad. It seems they have a lot to make up for and I do hope they can, maybe even Ryu can visit. They need each other, that much is pretty clear, even if they’ve got issues.
Style.
I enjoyed the authors style, word choices, and how they made me picture the world around Ryo and Ryu. It wasn’t hard to follow and at times made me laugh, and want to eat. Haha great descriptions of things we do love, some picturesque side to the world and what people eat. It was nice that the familiar things we were used to reading about, were just slightly altered in spelling giving us everything we needed to just be in this word. There are a few little inconsistencies in the timeline, and maybe it’s a little too easy for him at the temple at first, I think I’d like him another day without power or a phone. Spending money on that when he’s so little seems not a good idea at all. Some of the bits with the timeline I think maybe was just a miss from editing clues. It’s one reason I do track as I go with dates and sometimes even times.
Grammar.
There were a few spots that I think they missed, but overall nothing really stood out, there was a good amount of dialogue and tags, action for the characters, (even if slice of life) they were all doing things, and weren’t stagnant throughout.
Characters.
Hard to distinguish them from each other at first, and yeah sorry… ahah as brothers I think I would have liked just that bit more from that first part in terms of length, but it was good enough

Style: The author does a great job at pulling you into the story with enough detail that it's easy to picture what's happening without using a ton of prose. Very easy to read, relax and enjoy.
Story: The story starts off with a heavy intro and then you get right into the fun. I liked the way everything is setup. Great MC who's just trying to get through a tough time while constantly having things thrown at him whether its more work or a bunch of cute girls. Lots of hints at things to come down the line for people who love Slice of Life stories as well.
Grammar: Everything I read looked great to me. I saw maybe a few things here and there but the author does a great job at making sure everything is easy to read and any mistakes are taken care of quickly
Character: Like I said at the beginning I have never read a harem story before but I like the diversity of characters as the beginning of the story. A character for every ready. As well the MC is a regular guy whose easy to sympathize with.
Overall a great start for anyone looking to find a good harem/slice of life story
