Character makes a bit more sense and the world is more reasonable. Many things apply from old version aswell, such as interesting mc and good worldbuilding. A minor issue I’ve seen is that hide levels seem to be really good, but most likely a counter just hasn’t been introduced yet. The rewritten version is truly better than the old version.

The author has created one of the best pieces of fiction I have ever read in my life, better then most published novels.
The characters are fleshed out, the magic has set and clearly defined unbreakable rules (even if different than what the empire believes, the story has cool and explained fractal based math (which is important), the plot is clear and not wandering, the author corrects themselves when mistakes are pointed out in the comments, and the art they include is awesome!

The rewrite has cleared up many uncertainties and the story already flows better and makes more sense. Vitaly thanks so much for writing this. Anyone on the fence about reading this, I recommend it to you with the greatest vehemence, as this story is one of my all time favorites on Royal Road.

This story is incredibly interesting, with a complex RPG system woven throughout, along with many interesting historical events and facts sprinkled in each chapter. As well, the worldbuilding ranging from the hexes to the astral sea adds quite a variety of depth to this story, and works well to catch the reader’s interest.

I never thought I'd be engrossed in a "nerdy" book before, but here I am. I use the term "nerdy" in the best sense: intelligent and jam-packed of knowledge and references. I love the characters and the relation that blossoms between the two protagonists Delta and Dante.
I am just fascinated with the mathematical mechanics of the magic system in this story. I appreciate all the historical references, as I love a good bit of history. It's a historical fiction seamlessly interwoven with an amazing RPG-style magic system.
I'm always waiting for the next chapter! Keep up the good work, Mr. Alexius!

You know how every isekai has the protagonist comparing everything to home which is very much like yours? None seem to long for technology of 2040, or anything before WWII.  this one breaks that mold, the protagonist remembers and constantly compares to his past life, but it was a Soviet past and thus very alien to western readers who only vaguely are aware of a whole different history. As such it is a breath of fresh air.
The plot and setting is great and intersting, but to be honest i'm turing pages looking for more because of the history lesson I never got in school.

I am an avid consumer of fantasy media.
Technomagica is THE most enthralling fantasy in terms of its system of magic and the concepts described relating to magic and the soul. I just binge read all the current chapters in one sitting on a weekend, and I do not regret it one bit. I will be keeping a close eye for updates from here on out!
    My compliments to the chef!

i love it, this rewrite is far better than the original version. The character development, the plot, the worldbuilding, all of it is leaques above the old version, and I really enjoy where you are taking the story. If this keeps up this story might become one of my favoutites here on royal road.

Nice setup that makes me interested in reading more.  This is the kind of thing I enjoy reading, a new world with its own unique mechanics and mysteries!  The MC's own past a top Russian intellectual gits in with his goals and viewpoints too.  Looking forward to more chapters in the future now.
Edit: Hmm as the story progresses things get more and more confusing for me.

    PROS:
The system and the underlying magic are great. I love the exploration of magic. The fractal based magic isn't one I've ever encountered before. Also, the Astral Ocean is such a interesting place to read about as well. Lots of eldritch horror vibes. The author is kind enough to provide pictures to really sell you on the atmosphere.
    CONS:
The flow of the story keeps getting interrupted by random history exposition that is disconnected to the story. There will be multiple paragraphs about the history of things and about their creators and the exact year they were discovered when a simple one or two sentence explanation would have sufficed.
Another issue is that the dialogue isn't believable for an MC that is supposed to be acting like a young child. Why does he talk like a 60 year old man? Now, this wouldn't be an issue for his internal monologues but his speech is exactly the same. It's really hard to believe no one else in the town notices how different he is to all other children. It's even more bizarre when you account for the fact that he is supposedly trying to blend in. It's honestly surprising he hasn't been caught yet.
TLDR; Great magic system. Read if you like in-depth exploration of magic systems and are not bothered by weird dialogue and pointless info dumps.
