- DilettanteRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Good story. Writing wasn't great, but eh, I have low standards already.
- DunDunDuun123GASPRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0i've read over +2,000 books and from all of them...THIS book. This book is the ONLY one(well..one of the few) that i would HEAVILY recommend for those who are looking for a more humane and understanding book with a realistic mc , no OP powers, or random yet powerful being . No. No, this book shows you that the author intentinally made the mc like this to make you FEEL, to make you understand Ramiel on a personal way and by the end of it..cry like never before for a book.
I hope that soon, the author will publish this work.I would happily buy this wonderful masterpiece. Thank you for the amazing story and feelings Author. - kette442Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5Writing this 16 chapters into the second part, dont read if you have not progressed that far yet.
I really love the story so far. The overall theme of a main character lost in a world he is not compatible with and surviving against all odds is really well done and thought about.
You really play with the readers mind making us think that after the time he chills in a village that the curse gets better, he feels better and everything is nice. The nice things stay but the curse hits as hard as ever again, but does he care? NO.
Ramiel is a character i see as a bit darker and less op version of Roderic in Askir (Really nice books, my second favourite book series i think), and that character was created by one of the most talented german fantasy authors.
I would love to see longer chapters because i think in making these short chapters you sometimes lose some focus in the transition. Sometimes like in these village chapters it fit perfectly because he really lost any idea about what he wants to do and just lives for another day but in general and especially in more advanturous parts I think it would be better to keep the chapters together to keep the readers in the story.
The final fight of part 1 was beautiful, in general the last part after the curse hit the world was really nice. It is really the peak of his changed character and fits perfect just as the time he was left in an ocian if i remember right, both "ends" reflect how his character behaved at that time, really nicely done. I couldnt wait for another chapter and checked all the time during that time.
Not that far into the second part yet but I really like the idea, how you include what happened in these 100 years in between and the characters.
Keep going! This is really cool! xD - brnbabyburnRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I've only read the first 10 chapters or so but I believe I can safely say that this is a novel written by a non-native english speaker about a NEET who died and was transported to another world. He is not smarter than others, nor is he stronger than them, neither is he more socially capable than them. This is not an Otaku's dream about how the misunderstood child who hid away from society because he felt they couldn't accept him but is secretely hiding a will and desire to be great. No, this is someone who because they could not handle life hitting them at the end of their high school chose to retreat within the safety of their parents' home. Another review hated on this novel because of its realism, and that is exactly what it has, realism. A below average, emotionally weak individual drowned to death and found himself stripped of all his possessions by the residents of the slum in the middle of what could only be considered a middle age european world, he does not understand their language and while he experiences some kindness there is no princess or heiress who will instantly pity him and raise him up to be a hero under their influence. No, even when such a situation appears in front of him, it does not go the way of a fairy tale.
I think it deserves a 4.5 overall, 3 for grammar, 5 for story design, 4 for character design, and 5 for literary style (It feels like a story told by a bard). - ducksgoquackRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Its ok. The earlier chapters are simply divine. the despair. hopelessness. weakness.
It is a sight to behold.
This new arc. It needs to grow on me. - TeutatesRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0In lots of other story's that have a darker twist, you have the mc and the world / author is out to get the mc. and that breaks the immersion.
- allibooRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0First I want to say that I write this because I got irritated by the salty kids that say that the mc is the worst and that he ruins the story. The mc is something that is not overly seen and at the rr almost never. Why? Because is easy to write about an mc that is a perfect god that says 'shatrk ' and all the women love him at first sight and all the kings want to give their wife's to him. The author did something that made me respect him. He took a useless trash of our society, didn't gave him any super magic power, neither the luck to find the gods super chest that gave him op powers. Nop he took him and he made him suffer all the way to hell, the inhabitants weren't some super cute cats that wanted to lick the mc. Most of them wanted to survive and they didn't care if the mc would live another day. As the story continue I love it more and more. The author doesn't say " Hmm it's been 5 ch now that the mc isn't some pro super human, let's make him drink the flame of a Dragon and the poop of a goblin to get the super magical skill" instead he makes the mc realise that his days as a mama's boy have passed and that if he wanted to survive he must work double and at harsher conditions from a slave of a slave. So stop saying that the mc isn't cool, the mc is cool just becauce he survived until now. If he was a real human I would go there and say to him a good job just becauce he survived with any means at this shitworld. That's from me and I hope the people learn to respect the author if not love him for this special trash-mc.
- FillearRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0There two things that I like the most in this story. First - weak and understandable protagonist, second - a lot possibilities where story couldve taken another turn. I really liked that Ramiel didn't have solid destiny (aside of dying).
- Matt598Royal Road★★★ 3.0Up to chapter 150ish, this story was amazing, I loved the way the characters were portrayed, and honestly it had a good plot.
My issue is once part 1 ends and part 2 begins. There is a multi decade long time skip happens. An earlier time skip of a few montsh wasn't too bad and the author filled in a lot of what we missed very well. The issue with the final time skip, id things changed too much and it takes the next 20 chapters to understand what we missed, that 10% of the story is what did it in for me where I didn't like it much.
The character development was great, and loved how you pulled it around in the end. The MC isn't op, and really does seem like your avetaav guy.
Just, that chunk almost made me put it down and move on. - Prinny KnightRoyal Road★★★ 2.5A new take on summoning storys that leaves you frustrated, angry and some how wanting to keep reading, either too see the death of the most hated MC I have noted up to date or (and I'm personally wanting, but not at all expecting) the MC to become a character worth giving a "feels" for. It's very realistic writing style while having a great number of grammatical errors, but I can almost assurdly say, we have all seen ALOT worse. -dood-
