- pizzalad3Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Holy shit this story is good. Hands down, pants down good story. Good character development and good settings. Hell even why everyone spoke English was implied but not stated explicitly. That take skills and consideration in n writing.
- Chaos_SeedRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Another fantastic book! I binge read VW all the way until it was over, and now have read what you have here, as well as GoN. I can certainly say you are one of my favorite authors on this site! Keep it up.
I figured it was finally time to edit this, as there are now 46 chapters in this book, to give this more detail.
I will say it time and time and again, Monad creates some of the best pieces of literature I have seen on RR. TR, VW, and GoN are all three my favorites on this site by far, and the only complaint I could possibly have is there's never enough! I want more more more!
The story line follows a very strict plot, and even though the MC is over powered, it takes nothing from the story. The MC's emotionless behavior, though it does bar her from having true feelings, it does not keep the author from killing us with his incredible humor in some of the odd conversations Visette has. The constant minunderstandings she has due to her inability to feel, and the fact that she thinks almost completely literally, makes me laugh time and again.
As with every novel there are a few grammatical errors, but Monad is decisively quick in fixing all of the mistakes he has pointed out to him. I can speak from experience that reading through your own novel, though I have none posted on this site, it is incredibly easy to miss small grammatical errors.
I hope you continue to bless us with your masterpieces Monad! Thank you again. - GuisarmeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have really been enjoying this story since I decided to take a chance at it. Origionally I was put off by the fact that the author has a longer work that updates more frequently and worried this one would fall by the wayside. However the syory is really good and worth it so far and the author has begun to update regularlyish. In summary great story, hope the author continues it's excellence.
- TweedledeemeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0If you are into sci-fi with a little fantasy thrown in, this is a great addition to that genre. It sucks in even at the prologue. Besides a few minor errors the writing is strong and well thought out creating one of the better stories on the site.
- WhatsthatnameagainRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Easily one of the strongest starts to a story I've read on RR, Tabula Rasa already has me hooked do yourself a favour and check it or Monad's other work the Void Wolf out
- dragonhell420Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0dammit i hate you author making such a good fic with slow updates Y_Y
i rejoice that void wolf is done and you may focus on this as much as i enjoyed it this one was much more entrhalling of my focus i catch myself thinking of this one often and constantly checking for updates good work kind author - BoredBeyondBeliefRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Good, I hope they don't drastically change the MC though, there's a reason why "emotionless protaganists" only become emotional near the end.The story is neat though, I have no complaints.
- VokivasRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5Tabula Rasa, or Blank Slate. A new beginning, a potential for development, somthing without an identity. This all describes our protagonist.
The premise of this story seems remarkably familiar. Transported to another world. This is where most similarities end. There are no stat screens, and there is no magic. This isn’t a world frozen in the medieval age of Europe. Practically speaking, the world is the technological equivalent of modern day earth. In fact, there are markedly advances from today.
In this world there are no adventurers or magicians. There are only humans and Corrupted. Humans and the Corrupted have clashed for as long as anyone can remember, farther back than the calander and farther back than any history books. As such, Humanity as a whole is militarized. Civilians are used to the idea of conflict, it is all anyone has known. Due to the constant threat of Corrupted, people only live in or around militarized cities. Reminiscent of Shingeki no Kyojin, or Attack on Titan.
While Tabula Rasa is a breath of fresh air when compared to the many troupe heavy stories, it falls short in some other areas. Namely grammar and world building. While it is definitely readable, there are quite a few simple mistakes spread throughout. Worldbuilding wise, there is very little described about the environments. This could be far worse though, as the author is writing three other stories besides this one.
That being said, this story is that of S-767 and her journey of finding a place for herself. Finding an identity and purpose beyond what she was made to do. - Daniel HoltRoyal Road★★★ 3.0The premise seemded really promising and really interesting. But currently @ Chapter 54, the characters are completly bland. Our MC is pretty hyprocritical in that she's "emotionless" and "robotic" when in reality she's not. The other side characters are bland and aren't flashed out at this point as well.
That said, I have to give props to the style and grammar as the story flowed smoothly was able to draw you in. - GaskRoyal Road★★ 2.0This novel started strong with an entertaining premise that ends too quickly. The main character Visette is born into the ruins of an advanced laboratory that had crash landed onto an unknown world several years before. Sounds good, what kind of adventure will she have in getting out of this place before the power runs out and what might she find along the way? Oh, there’s just a dry briefing from an AI and some clothes… is that a conveniently placed door to the outside world located in the exact same room that she was ‘born’ in? Great.
Past the threshold we find ourselves in a world of city states and some dangerous wildlife but apart from that there really isn’t much to talk about. People drive around in cars, use computers and wield firearms… mostly against each other. There is the ever present menace of the ‘Corrupted’ but outside of one encounter they’ve proven to be irrelevant to the story beyond explaining the setting and making the protagonist look good.
In the 40 chapters that I’ve read nothing much happens beyond the repeated instances of Visette training, killing and having robotic ‘conversations’ with others. Unfortunately she’s a character so lacking in basic human characteristics that she might as well be made of metal. She feels neither physical nor emotional pain, has nothing but the vaguest of goals and cares very little about anyone or anything. Of course there are some other characters but they seemingly only exist to orbit Visette and as a result their lives are just as meaningless to the reader as they are to the protagonist.
In the end I lost interest in reading about a more or less invincible protagonist who goes around mechanically killing things while not caring very much about anything in particular. If the author has plans to significantly change her personality then I suggest that you get the ball rolling on that sooner than you have so far or to liberally utilize some time skips. That or to shift the focus of the story onto som
