- DthomsRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This book is awesome, and has everything in it! Suspense, mystery, action, drama and the heroes journey all wrapped into one expertly written package, but I expect nothing less from this author.
The way they write is an effortless display of creative power, paired exquisitely with the skill and knowledge of how to expertly guide those creative juices into true works of art that leave the reader thirsting for more after each chapter!
If you're looking for an author to scratch that fantasy itch, look no further! I also recommend reading the other two entries by this stellar wordsmith. You will not be disappointed!
I very much look forward to the future entries and I'll be keeping a close eye on the authors career and future rise to fame! - Terminus SolRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A great fusion of transplanted MC and a... not quite dark, but definitely wrong Magic Girl setting. Between this and the followup 1.5, I had to binge the story. Can't say I've read anything quite like this, though the general magic girl genre isn't what I tend to read. But the slow, creeping realization that starts early on in the story that things are wrong, and just how wrong it pans out to be by the end? Lovely, and vague enough that before the reveal you could cook up a half dozen or so scenarios in your head as to what is really going on, and end up wrong on all counts is fantastic.
- The Young PyromancerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Well, damn. This story is an absolutely fantastic deconstruction of the magical girl genre. The use of interludes is masterful, and the character writing is among the best I’ve seen on royal road, maybe THE best. If I had to pick a relative flaw, it would be the plot, but that’s a huge stretch, as it’s just because stuff’s still being set up. Each seemingly disconnected monster of the week still contributes at least one important thing to the story, usually multiple, and it seems like things’ll kick into gear soon enough, so even that’s only enough to lose half a star on story.
The author of this story is willing to make bold decisions for the sake of the story and characterization, and they have payed off. I can’t think of a single relevant character in this story who is boring, even ones that seemed like they’d be unsympathetic or one-note. Random one-off antagonists are more interesting than every character combined in most Royal Road stories. And the worldbuilding that’s being hinted at? Man. It remains to see whether the author will fully deliver on everything they’ve been setting up, but even if they only do a somewhat decent job of it, that’ll still be enough to make this a classic.
Grammar isn’t an issue.
