- killyekfaelRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I have never read cultivation stories before and I actively disliked them in comic/manga form.
I decided to give this one a try and I have not been disappointed so far! It is steady and slow grow, with not just hard work but networking too (which is both more "realist" and more interesting).
I hope the fights will be as interesting (not really any at the moment of the review). I might be reading more cultivation stories, but this one has raised the bar quite high. - Balls123331Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0A genuinely cool and interesting take on the cultivation genre that's not been repeated a billion times
I find the character charming and witty avoiding trouble but not being a closed shut in , honestly it's amazing how the author can balance these 2 things, especially in cultivation stories where one of the two is usually exaggerated.
No face slapping till now ,it's like there's a normal cultivation novel going on in the background, lovely stuff, it's carries the charm of cultivation while dropping off it's cliché and tropes
The story hasn't progressed much yet but its well paced and heading in a good direction, with the plot developing in a clear and understandable way ,no jumps to a secret realm opening for the first time in a 1000 years , or the rival sect attacking after 500 years of stability.
I think some of the community are still stuck in Thier desire for quick advancement tho, but the status screen will probably keep them happy to(my desire for numbers going up is insatiable)
Overall an amazing job by the author, wish them the best of luck with the book , also try not to get to peaceful in the books wars and fighting are a major part of cultivation. - ArcanaVitaeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Ning is a very interesting character as a cultivator. I really love that he's just and intelligent, hard working dude that's playing things smart to grow. Cultivation is something that requires resources, knowledge and connections. Ning is very aware of that and he works hard both in growing his skill, earning money and wheeling and dealing. I really love how the panel isn't even that big of an edge, it's not a system, it's just letting him know how skilled he is, Ning's progress is his own. It's also interesting to see someone just grinding away in a cultivation world.
- JDayRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I binged the story in one day, my only regret is the lack of more chapters.
if you like xuanxia, slice of life, a smart MC, and a fun read, this is an excellent read.
The world building is very solid and explained little by little, the mc has a character and he sticks to it.
If you are reading this author, keep up the good work and I hope to see more chapters soon.
Only true question, what is that realm after foundation?
The purple mansion realm, first time reading about it. - Jason769Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Thanks for the rewrite enjoyed the original, am liking the more even start here compared to the original with the side characters they feel a bit more realistic, and the story tropes are a bit more modernized which is nice.
Still early on in the rewrite but hopefully it goes on for a while really enjoyed the original and was sad when it went on hiatus so looking forward to how this goes. - LadyFffireRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The writing has the feel of a chinese translation without the low-quality, it's definitely a must read for a lover of the xianxia genre and a much improved rewrite. The way the status screen and space-time sensitivity is shown to be explained in-world phenomena instead of an unexplained gift early on adds to the story massively. The little bonuses like additional skill in archery while clearly still showing the theoretical boosts something like a talent in Space-Time could give you at the highest realms are extremely interesting. The only real negative is the slower-pace with realms like Purple Mansion clearly being late-late novel boosts but I don't mind that and the need for more chapters only shows the quality, it's also not a real negative given that chapters are posted fairly regularly.
- Popcorn SteakRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Exactly what the main character does.
Instead of what most 'side character' protagonists do when isekei'd, which is twist things around and subvert the 'real' protagonist, Ning is careful to build his power slowly with a solid foundation instead of taking every advantage for himself. Sticking with the plan, he builds his powerbase that can weather the normal troubles it encounters while making sure he can survive disasters.
Common sense really is overpowered.
A highly enjoyable read, and I eagerly wait for each new chapter! - ReaderFredRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I enjoyed the original, and I am enjoying this rewrite. I like how you are adding in some of the newer tropes of the current xianxia genre, such as the 'spiritual farming' that has taken off in the low level cultivator experience. It is nice to see it shown here. Ning is still an enjoyable character, and it feels like we are seeing more of his character with the slower pace at the moment, and the fact that he is interacting with more 'equal' characters in the sect.
- RennyTheReaderRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Came here from the old series, and the old series was greeeaattt. So a whole new rewrite with better planning, sign me up immediately. The old series was already pretty great, despite being fast paced, it never felt rushed and every chapter was a fun read. The grammar is great, the characters are fleshed out, and obviously with any Xianxia world the world building / exploration from just a few chapters are already peak. The protag Ning is an pragmatic young man with the wits and wisdom of anime and tv shows, and I definitely look forward to all his common sense. The only shame I feel compared to the old series is the many weeks it will take to get more chapters, but that's true for any old story that is freshly created.Using the old series as an expectation, Ning will definitely progress in a way that I will enjoy reading. And I personally love every references to our world used, after all, an isekaier should still have their roots from good old home after all, and it never felt forced or overused.
- ShindoAoiRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I faintly remember the previous version of this novel. I am really happy the author ia back writing this story for all of us to enjoy ! I really want to see where Ning journey will take him ! There is a system but its more of progress tracker !
