Writing this review after finishing the latest chapter (chapter 24), I will try to refrain from spoilers
A fantastic start to a super hero space opera, I cannot wait to see where this goes. The history of this universe and the different planets inhabitants is genuinely so immersive, that escaping into this world was something that became habitual in no time.
The fights have grit and are very strategic, I like the reliance on knowledge and strategy characters utilize to get the upper hand. Elio's quick thinking and knowledge of biology, plus Rays understanding of chemistry is really cool to see put to use. The creme brulee scene especially made me laugh, that was an awesome moment in my opinion. Not much I think I can say to improve there, just keep polishing that style you got going!
This might be a me problem, but tone and character motives I felt were tough to interpret at times. I think it's a me problem mostly because of my own preassumptions of their roles in the story and my preassumptions of the morales society and some characters hold. Hard to give examples without spoilers but Gendross and Loxo caught me off guard with the more positive aspects of their characters , but I also think it adds a lot to the type of world you are building.
The scenes of characters bonding are great, very wholesome and relatable at times, even with characters who aren't human. Sometimes it feels like a bit much, but some of them genuinely got me laughing and smiling. That arcade scene especially, Elio was hilarious there.
Grammatically and writing style wise it's very good at the moment, it can be improved though. I am an avid believer in paragraph spacing and breaking for dialogue. Having two or three characters sharing a paragraph for dialogue often times had me rereading to make sure I was seeing who said what correctly.
Besides that, I don't have many other complaints, I think it's a very realized vision, and seeing your confidence in your work makes me want to trust in that

Holy shit. I forgot to write a review 😭😭
Either way, I will start by saying this. I liked this first arc. It's a good first arc most importantly it plants seeds for the future and gave enough moments with the main chacater to show us what can do and how likable he is. Good job hotshot. I will be waiting for the new chps to come out as they stack.

Hello, Quinton Gross. It's me, Diroxhero 😼
Now all jokes aside, I really mess with the story as of right now. Personally, Hot Shot is a very interesting protagonist (especially with the background knowledge I have now), and I'm compelled to see where his journey goes after this. Now lets get into specifics.
My favorite chapter by FAR is chapter 8. That Reggie backstory genuinely upset me, and that boy Maxi got cooked terribly. You hate to see it, but I think the death adds a lot to Reggie's character, and it honestly makes me care about Hot Shot and Reggie's dynamic a lot more, so I'm glad you did this backstory earlier. A good backstory for a major character being so early in the story doesn't typically work, but it flows well even ignoring my pre-established knowledge about the characters. Reggie's backstory is seamless, and genuinely adds more depth to him without putting any real development for him in this arc. You're establishing him, without evolving the entire character if you get what I mean by that.
Gendross is the goat 🗣 Nobody can tell me anything, (until the OTHER goat shows up) but that boy is my favorite character right now. Silas is a good second place, then Hot Shot and Reggie. This will absolutely change, but I'm excited to see when Gendross pulls up again.
All and all, I mess with this series heavy, and I'm excited to see what else you'll do with Sunraionzu in the future! Good work, Quin.
