A once proud prince loses everything when his father, the King of Kurigazu, kills his own family to cement an alliance with a powerful neighboring country; swearing to avenge his fallen brothers, sisters, and most importantly, his disgraced mother, he flees the palace, seeking out the power of the Gods to smite his conniving father and his new queen. Surrounded by enemies and opportunists, he stumbles upon the power of Geass, a power with the ability to bridge the gap between his world and the domain of the gods and demons; but in exchange for the privilege to set foot into the underworld, he must forever relinquish any chances he had before of living a happy life.

The story has a strong start in nearly every regard.
To begin with, the characters feel fleshed out. Their personalities and characteristics are identifiable from the very beginning, and their quirks make them feel very human. This continues in their dialogue and actions, which makes them feel distinct and alive.
This is further bolstered by the high quality of writing and dialogue. There are no grammatical or writing errors I noticed, and the flow and prose of the sentences makes it quite enjoyable to read. A good blend of description and dialogue keeps the pacing quick, never having a dull or slow moment.
The start is also quite interesting, giving enough information to give an idea as to what type of world we’re in, but also gives us enough mystery that there’s a want to read more. This is helped by the quick paced and tense start, immediately leading with action and mystery.
This pacing isn’t dropped, either, as it carries on through the chapters as they progress.
Overall, the world feels well built, with a sturdy base that has the potential to expand into something absolutely amazing. I’m looking forward to whatever the author has in mind for the future.
