Description

Whispers tell of a merchant who strikes deals with gods.

Somewhere faraway, the universe is in peril. But on Earth, Alan is minding his own business after a double-shift at the pawn shop… until he’s assaulted by a screaming archer. Turns out he was a good shot.

Alan awakes in Strangey Town – a zany nightmarish jungle of ideas run by a horrid deity – where a clairvoyant frog confirms he has an affinity for magic, and that his powers are far from ordinary. To convene with gods, bargain for souls, and tap into every known magic the universe has to offer is unheard of. But with great promise comes grave danger. Realms hellbent on seizing control of the universe seek to seize Alan’s potential, and will declare war to gain it.

Through magic, blade’s edge or a deal, the God Merchant will prevail.

If you're a fan of fever dreams and acid trips, give it a try! And if you aren't... read the more boring parts of the Bible? Avoid Revelations though. Apparently, reviews must be at least 50 words long, well, I dont get paid for reviews, Royalroad. I keep this stuff pithy, compact, and relevant. If I wanted to draw something out, I'd be writing my own litRPs instead of reviewing other people's.

It has good potential, but the power system is all over the place. I also didn't like what you did with Neesha, where she basically sacrificed her freedom and free will to save someone she didn't know or trust; and she does that AFTER you put extra care in telling us that she doesn't care for anyone she doesn't trust, and that she wouldn't go out of her way to do anything for people she doesn't know. And then you go and do something like the "saro link" and that it can't be broken easily, and then right after that you tell us that Neesha will break it after she gets the answer stone? I understand that you wanted Neesha and Alan to separate narratively, but you could have made the other guy do the "saro link" to save Neesha, an have her accept because she need too to survive; but that's just my opinion on your biggest narrative mess up. Brought the overall score from a 4 or 3.5, to a 2.5.

I just can't get into this frenetic sloppy story.  Too many characters, too much unexplained, too much going on.  The premise was okay at first, but the power differences between areas don't make any sense, and the people who live in the crazy town are stronger than the mc but he can go where they can't?
Story doesn't make sense, power is sloppy, characters and MC are sloppy.  The story could be good, but it needs to be planned out and refined.

I was super-hymed for this. The grammar was good and the premise was interesting. Sure the mc was the classic moron that struggles to rub his Neurones together but it was interesting nonetheless. And then the classic annoying female companion was added.
I never understood authors that have no idea how to write women and still try to incorporate a female character in their story. It always ends in one of 3 ways:
1: it's an arrogant know-it-all that the mc will trust for no reason after getting stabbed in the back by her.
2: A stupid damsel in distress that needs a man in her life.
3: Someone that will fall in love with the mc and worship him 5 minutes after meeting him (usually in SI)
Sadly here we have a classic case of the mc suffering from brain damage and trusting a random woman with his life after she tries to kill him (*minor spoiler ahead* bashing someone's skull with a stone slab is meant to kill not incapacitate). And of course the only reason he trusts her is because she's hot (not even kidding that's what happens).
Even if you don't mind this, the fact that the mc despite being blatantly wrong several times Never stops to question himself is really annoying. The only reason he's not dead is because he's the protagonist. It makes the whole book feel bland and without consequences.
(Sorry for terrible English, it's my third language)
