Story: Forever After

Description
This is a story that spanned for eons.
Through a series of misfortune, Ryner turned into an immortal creature that has lived for hundreds of thousands of years. Not bound to one world, he saw war and peace, love and hate, magic and science.
The man started as a parentless child only to grow into a powerful and shunned monster. Despite the physical and mental scars, he still fights on. He still fights Alice, his fellow, insane monster and for their own reasons, they kill each other. The two wage brutal wars in the form of a “death game” that Ryner managed to force Alice into playing.
After his latest win against her, he decides to go on a vacation. As such, he inserts himself in a seemingly normal world to enjoy a brief moment of peace and quiet. This is where the story starts, not at the beginning, but near the end. Instead of resting like a lazy tourist, problems pop up one after another. Eventually, Alice ceases to be his only or biggest concern.
This is the story of a man who stubbornly walks down a road of madness.
This is the story of how a tortured soul struggles, lives and fights.

- mask19Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0I am very impressed with this story and recommend this book to anyone.
Style: The writing is one of the best. The writing flows smoothly letting the reader enjoy transitions of POV.
Story: The story is an interesting read about an op character haunted by his past. What I particularly like about this story is the mystery of who or what the character is. While reading the readers' anticipation will build with each passing chapter, making the wait for the next chapter unbearable
Grammar: I have read this and I have not read any grammar or spelling mistakes yet.
Character The point that I am the most pickiest about, but which this author does greatly is adding depth to the character. Many authors will fall into the trap of not giving their characters individuality, such as a harem of girls with the same personality. In this story, all the characters have their own contrasting emotions or ideals - ArmmaHRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This novel is absolutly top rate. Depth and background of the story, every character is one of the best i've read. This is not a amatur work I'm so used to in RR, but a real professional work.
Harem creation and development is well done, and isn't ruining the story.
If you want a good read, don't think twice, just read it. - Adc190Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Definitely one of the good reads on RRL atm. Now let's get to the point.
Style: Reader friendly, creative, perfect. 5/5.
Story: No plot whatsoever but who cares the fic is amazing. 3/5.
Grammar: No one can be perfect in this Department. However it is pretty good. 4.5/5.
Characters: All Characters create an impact on the reader. You can relate to each one of them. The MC is exceptional. 5/5.
Overall: I marathoned through the fic. It deserves a 5/5.
To the writer: A nice twist to the typical reincarnation fictions. Your fiction is amazing.
To the potential readers: This fiction is a hidden RRL gem. Even without the mature tag, this fiction would definitely entertain you. Start reading now! - zzazRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5great read, suprise it didn't have more reviews on here. should give a try, and does not take the typical approach of some fantasy fictions on here, a bit more realist. But not to drastic, from at least what I have read.
read up to chapter 19 - PunchManPartyRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This is just one of the best that I've read in terms of the reincarnation and OP MC types of story. Thank for adding a twist to the usual blend of this type of novels.
So moving on, grammar is great among those that I've read so far here in RR, not an eyesore would be what it is.
Character development is good so far, a total balance of annoying types and the-reader-doesn't-want-this-creature-to-die-type of characters.
The styling is great, making the story not confusing even with a lot of things going on in a single chapter or a few more.
Story-wise, as I've said, the unusual twist(at least for me), is what had made me hooked on your novel, dear sir Author. The current pacing is great seeing as the MC is already OP, throwing in patches of what he's already been to in his current immortal life, making it mysterious and suspense here and there is really great.
Definitely one of the best novels here in RoyalRoad. - GrargRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0This story is good, much better than many of its comparables. Basically, the MC is OP but has lots of self-imposed restrictions on his abilities. The world is also not centered around him and feels alive.
I've read up to chap 55 so a few critiques (spoilers) for the author:
1. I really do not like the ongoing Alice/Ryner plotline. Giving him constant nightmares and giving her unrestricted access to his dreams got old really fast. Very little of their background is explained and thus far, we still don't know why they're playing what appears to be a ridiculous game. Why drag things out? Why not just fight and get it over with? What exactly are they fighting about? I actually get angry every time the plotline comes up and the characters say things in an intentionally vague way to not give away the mystery to the reader. It feels forced.
2. Most of the antagonists are just raving lunatics. Sirius, Dan, and the ridiculous number of rapey bandits are just all insane. It's like Ryner is tripping over them every time he turns. Please include more interesting antagonists and conflicts that are not just resolved with Ryner crushing them with brute force. The ongoing antagonism between Ryner and King Charles is a good example. It's not a simple relationship and the king isn't monolithically good or evil. Do more of that. Less crazy lunatics.
3. Most of the people Ryner have directly saved are cute girls, from the princess to the most recent mother/daughter pair. As the series continues, you might want to change it up. The reader notices and it feels unnatural. - mysticfauxRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5It had a good premise, [Read the prologue], and the grammar and style is decent.
But
Spoilers
The main character's only enemies at the moment seem to be the typical 2-byte bad guys, such as the bandits or the prince who tried to launch a coup, it just really felt that they were bad for the sake of being bad.
And, what's the deal with his match with alice? It just seems, really forced for no reason. I'm just on chapter 20 for now, but having her appear in his dreams, talking vaugely, trying to make her a mysterious enemy really seems like someone is putting a gun to alice's head and forcing her to do it.
And the main character? It's so obvious why he's been betrayed so much, He's cared for people, but did he really 'care' for them? did they understand them as for what they are? I feel like the 'reason' he gets betrayed is that, he knows their gonna die one day, and puts up a barrier. I bet he's realized this, but would rather have been betrayed, than watch them perish.
Or, I'm giving Ryder too much credit, and he really needs to hear the saying 'Trust is only won, when you can trust the other' - sabazurcRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5I like the story, it has OP strong MC with interesting personality, good action, and magic. For me that is already enough. Plus it is enjoyable to read and you want to read more and more. Sometimes it reminds me of arifureta. I’m surprised that some shitty novel ended in top 5 weekly and this one did not and that I have not started reading this earlier. This is one of the hidden gems of royalroad.
Update: Soo now I am at chapter 60 and I lowered my score. SPOILERS AHEAD!!! The reasons are: though MC is op author put such restrictions on him that he very rarely uses his powers. He can’t use magic or most likely he can, but does not for some strange reason. He made some stupid bet which really irritated me, it was so obvious that he would lose. Generally he makes some questionable decisions(like planning to travel to dangerous places for no reason) and is being very nosy. He just can’t stay away from problems, while constantly complaining and reminding readers after every fight that he should not waste his powers(which he does). Also it is already chapter 60 and we know nothing about MC, his powers, why he does not use magic and etc. I want to see more of MC’s powers already(it does not matter how powerful he is if he does not fucking use that power) without stupid restrictions and his usage of magic. I don’t want to see only some side characters to get stronger, I wish for MC to develop too. - ZeijiRoyal Road★★ 2.0The main character pretending to be dopy but secretly a badass can only hold the reader’s interest for so long.
Do not read this story unless you can withstand angsty teenagers trying to out-white knight an emo MC. - Leigie of slothRoyal Road★★ 2.0This was a very promising novel , but the stupid reasons mc gives for doing something or savings someone is just nauseating. He is just plain ass stupid.
