One thing I love about MH's writing is how well she describes swordplay and combat scenes in general. I don't feel like I'm watching an anime, I feel like I'm watching actual fighters striking with maces and swords in the grim and bloody trenches of 15th century England. Pretty awesome job, on that front.
The author wrote well enough that I felt like I was really there, riding by Jessica's side with my friends making quips and preparing themselves to take on a band if slavers just beyond the forests edge, death or triumph just a few terrible seconds away. That delicious sense of being there, along with a plotline epic in scope, made this story a pleasure to read, even for the second time!
The author asked me to reread it and give a thorough review. I definitely think she kicked up her game. Where before Jess was vulnerable to her nemesis, now her psyche blazes with resolve, her hatred for her foes shining bright and clear.
She is challenged, forced to endure hardships, and in the end? Sweetest triumph against at least some of her foes. Then everything seems to be swimming in peril once more, and I can't wait for the sequel!

So, this is my first review so bear with it, if it's not competitively done.
Some are saying the fist version was better, but most out there, like me, probably haven't read that so here's my opinions:
    Overall/ story score 4.5
i gave this rating because you won't find here on RR a story like this so easily, such most of us read different kind of stories, and the world building, even if it's based on classic fantasy is "rebuilded" in its own way and become unique. Still up to this point there are things we don't know but the author seems to have left hints about it be solid and ready to be unfolded.
    Style 5
beacause actually I never read a story written like this one. The pattern of the sentences make you feel like you're wandering trough a thin fog, you can see over it but cannot get a hold of everything that lay ahead.
    Grammar 4
You won't find too much about grammar mistakes other then few words missing (and still they are rare mistakes) and sometimes some phases are not that understandable (but I'm not English native, so it may be my comprehension that lack) and the major flaw I found was an explanation about the "Shadowrealm" made to the MCs twice.
still it's more than enjoyable to read and you would not have to wait for the next chapter.
    Character 4
I feel like to give them faith. Our heroine at first may seem like being succubi to another char ( and se is a bit) but give her faith, I will say nothing more about this to not spoil you. I found no other thing to flaw them up to chapter 53.
Their personal story and who they are or may be is still hidden in the fog, and I will repeat me thrice now: have faith in what the author is doing about them and what he planned for them.
So, give it a try to reach the actual later chapters, even if you feel like not grasping all of it, because I think this is the author doing, to make us feel like we're wandering through a dream.

This newest version  is much more like the original, I recommend it for any one who likes more realistic fighting and characters.

It seems as though your writing has improved from the original squire of war, and is somewhat less confusing. That said, your storytelling has become worse and the concepts in your piece are distasteful. The original squire of war had a strong female character in a social predicament caused by society, battling for her own freedom. Many of the scenes had character developement and comradery themes.
