- CRCRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Great Story! I just finished and the book has kept me interested since it start.
- Saifullah SaniRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is my first review so please forgive me if there is some mistake.
What i like in this story is not a blind fighting from the begining and un natural and un realistic main charactor.
Main chractor has a realistc personality and there is a solid story.
One thing i hope that story will not end when main chractor asend to Imortal Ralm. - lio liRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Admin edit: Translation. Original Below
I do not have the experience to review or evaluate your work as much as you want, this is to clarify my opinion only.

- Jack RipperRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5As my review title states, this is a proper story.
It is VERY well written and makes a lot of sense for our world.
There is no eternal soruce if entropy gets nothing.
And the author wrote a quality story.
But I'm mad.
I started this story after searching for those that were tagged as Comdies.
The Main tag this book does not show is tragedy. . .So much more tragedy than comedy! Many did not seem to be a fan of the comedy as it was all childish. (but when you've read as many novels as I have, childish humor is a safe haven. . . and I wish there was more).
This thing started out with our childish MC and childish humor. We even got a few pairings/ships. Then there was more back story to the MC groups. . .Their groups somehow were never able to explain things to the group. . .They seemed compeled to kidnap the group members before brainwashing them. This compulsion was not really explained in the story.
Those who read the story might disagree with me.
But it was not! Akumu claimed he did not brainwash anyone, then later Kuro or some of the other primordial beasts showed fair signs of brainwashing or manipulation/influence.
Now when it comes to Junius, I blame the Awter clan as it's pretty clear that they brainwashed him before Akumu influenced him. They kidnapped him and then explained the story to him, and yet he wanted to go back to the orphans. But they didn't let that happen and went with the kidnapping plan. And in failing to kidnap our mc, Junius lost his father seemingly before he was made aware that he had a living father.
This compulsion lead to the first bit of tragedy in the story. Damn it was heavyt I came for comedy. Then I got tragedy that made me regret reading this story.
As the plot moved on and our Main group started to recover, our MC was given a new LI who was not given proper development.
I'm all for actual growing up. That means shin coming to terms that Ariel died and thus carrying out with life, she can be a motivator but life wouldn't stop for hi - TooHardToReadRoyal Road★★★ 3.0This is my opinion!(meaning: depending on my overall situation this review may fluctuate)
Good story, but very slow paced.
Structure is a bit loose.
Book 1: some training
Awakening
Assassination(well I think the break was somewhere around there)
Book 2: bandites
.... - OrderedChaosRoyal Road★★★ 3.0.Its sloooooooooooooooow.
The author has addressed it themselves but it is a slow burn type of novel. For people who can't take things being super slow, you may not enjoy this novel. However, i'm a huge fan of slow burn esque novels(the only time slow burn does not pay off, imo, is when there is no payoff/climax). What's great about this novel is that while in general climaxes are huge events that come from conflicts, instead the climaxes come as "Lessons Learned" or show growth in mindset. I've been reading too many action novels and i've forgotten that climaxes come in other forms. Anyways, good worldbuilding, characters are not too shallow(pls avoid what Douluo dalu does or any CN novel for that matter and keep characters "alive"), interactions are great and background plot is nice to have. If you have read Ze Tian Ji or Way of Choices, then this one is a must read for you(minus the "profound" feeling but imo, the author hasn't had little chance to do something like that).
Edit: Well returning to royal road for a bit because im bored, i came back to read where I left off (B10, 01/11/20) and boy its a doozy. Criticizing something when you’ve forgotten how the story was is great because you can see things from a refreshed perspective. So what I’ve never noticed is that the novel has become more of a tell then show type of novel, I’ve ended up actually skimming the chapters because the way the story is told seems bloated rather than concise. It feels as if the author is building the train tracks piece by piece while the train is right behind. The sentences feel like word salad. The world building is still fine but the execution is starting to feel dull. Honestly, I think the writing has fallen off from how great the first few volumes were and the epic twist that happened. Im starting to miss things like tiny details on how techniques work and instead we just get things like x used a skill because x is now stronger and x training has paid of and blah other reasons I - WavyplzRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Reviewed at book 2 chapter 1.
Spoiler: Spoiler
It looks like the ELDER is going to decide that the main character will be a healer. The MC is lazy, unmotivated and easily pushed around, evidenced by the elder deciding his path.
The clan leader seems so f****ing indecisive as well!
"Oohh, there is a massive divide in my clan, how do I fix it? It's not like I have had years of experience at this and could see this conflict from a mile away!"
Sort this sh*t out! - fangyuan_nuRoyal Road★★★ 2.5Linodo's debut work could have been great but it was increasingly influenced by Japanese and Chinese LN which led to clichéd development.
Style
I can understand that pacing is slow for the first book or two for 'character development' but the pace has been consistently slow. There are many chapters that are unnecessarily too long such as the freshman tournament arc, for instance.
I also find the use of Japanese interjections such as 'Ara' and 'Mou' to be cringey. Not even sure why there is a need to use them in an English novel.
Story
The story is actually pretty consistent and I kinda like the world that the author panned out. Plot is rather basic but there is a lot of potential if not for clichéd plot armor. The romance part is just bad, in my opinion.
Grammar
Overall not bad except the occasional mispells and use of wrong words
Character
Probably the most polarizing aspect of the novel. MC is a mix of the typical shounen manga MC and a Chinese webnovel MC. A calm genius that has a tendency to underestimate his opponents in fights, an intelligent genius that needed someone that seemed really stupid at times; Shin is just a weird character to me and it is most probbaly due to the fact that he is the amalgamation of the many webnovels MC that Linodo has read.
The supporting characters are also flat and some of them, who the author had given significant screen time, just faded into oblivion as the story progresses - NocainRoyal Road★★★ 2.5In my opinion it's a shonen jump anime in writing.
Some like it...I don't.
The dialogue is childish and the characters seam retarded... Especially the "adults" and "elders" - Elder_Cat_of_DzireRoyal Road★★ 2.0Just no. Maybe for new readers. Not for me. Great concept. Very bad execution. The author expects the reader to be dumber that the average 10 year old to ignore basic logic.
One instance is where the second elder very blatantly threatens and votes to kill the mc which fails and during the very next mission several assassins and the elder's friggin subordinate tries to kill the mc. After the orphan group is injured, their guardian the First elder demands an explanation and this confrontation....I kid you not, makes the Clan leader punish both the first and second elder after the perpetrators were allowed to destroy the evidence. Not something I can simply ignore. Bad writing.
Can someone tell me if anything changes after book 1? I can't go any further.
Good luck to the author.
