Spark of the Ancients has a lot going for it. I like the way the system is used in this story. Fresh enough that it doesn't feel overdone, but still keeps true to the genre. Ray’s progression as an artisan is fun to follow and makes him stand out as a protagonist. His journey is easy to root for, and his relationships with Erith and Chio really do shine in the dialogue. There is a clear goal set from the start of the story, and the character backstories really help flesh out the world.
On the downside, grammar is an area that I think needs some improvement. There are recurring issues with what seem like unintentional tense shifts, which occasionally take me out of it. For example, dialogue tags sometimes lack proper punctuation, and run-on sentences can make certain passages harder to follow. These errors aren’t overwhelming, but they’re frequent enough to distract from the immersion. A round of editing to fix these issues would help the story a bunch I think.
Additionally, while the action scenes are exciting and detailed, they can sometimes feel overexplained, slowing the pacing. I definitely prefer more of showing through actions, but this is not always a draw for people as the description of scenes is really great.
Despite these issues, the story’s unique premise, solid characters, and engaging tension make it an enjoyable read with great potential. With careful revisions and editing, this could grow into an excellent piece of fantasy storytelling.

The dialogue is very clunky and doesn't flow: He said, then she said, you're this, lets do that; sort of thing and the MC is completely clueless. He gets a class he has no knowledge of and fights completely differently than his stats would be maximized. 25 chapters in and I think this is a pretty good synopsis of the story. I wish the author luck and hope they grow in their writing.
