A fantasy that tells the classic chosen one story in a very refreshing manner with charming characters
This experience took a day out of my life, and I'm not at all disappointed. The story is a bit different from what I usually read, and it's actually quite refreshing. The writing style is great, but it took me some time to grow accustomed to it.
Although the beginning might feel a little unpolished, it rewards your patience in the end.
I like the way it's written. It is simple but doesn't lack charm. However, the pacing is a bit too fast for my taste. I thought it could be longer, and I wouldn't mind it being longer than it is.
There are some grammatical errors, mostly minor, but they didn't hinder my experience or anything.
Regarding the characters, they are the highlight. Choosing an older woman as the main character is brilliantly unique. Such characters are rare in fantasy, making this departure from the norm quite refreshing. I also appreciate Casey and Aureal. They go beyond being just words on a page; they feel real.
To sum up, if you're seeking a quick and refreshing fantasy experience, this book is definitely worth your time. Its charm comes from the well-developed characters, showcasing the author's skill in storytelling.
