Description

To appease the demons that are coming into the world through a newly-opened portal, and get on their good side, the Emperor decides to give them one of his high-ranking slaves as a gift. Now, she must use all of her wits not only to survive among them but also to learn as much about them as possible if her people are to have any chance of survival.

However, she quickly realizes that these demons are nothing like she expected them to be.

Chronologically speaking, this book is a sequel toTwisted hell. But it has a new cast of characters so you don't need some knowledge from the previous book to follow this one.

It's been a while since i've read a Gate style isekai. There aren't any overpowered mc's here or a status screens, the story has the premise of Gate but rather than focusing on the perspective of humans, the focus is shifted on the perspective of the native people of the world. How do they see us? How do they see our tech? What are the differences in cultures & societies? These are the questions that are explored. Highly recommend that people give this a chance!

Contrary to my title, I have little to gripe about for this short story. My title is to emphasize that this book is a great sequel to the original comedy of errors this author wrote. Another wonderfully done comedy of errors in the same vein as the first novel in the series. While there is little overlap between the two with characters, the backround and worldbuilding in the first novel certainly help to understand context of this novel. That said, my only real complaint is that I want more! The dialogue is interesting and comedic with plenty of overthinking and misunderstanding to drive two cultures apart. The author continues to use social customs and tradition to both show the ludicrousness and lucidity of the plot. Even though those two terms might seem contradictory, it weaves a wonderful comedy throughout the story. The only real bad mark I have against this novel is that i feel that some of the phonetic translations can be hard to understand as they don't match any auctual phonetic transcriptions.

This is pretty funny. Basically, a portal has opened up between earth and a fantasy world. The natives are like smaller, frailer wollf demihumans. First contact wasn't too long ago, and the feudal nation gifts one of their best concubines to the Earth task force that's set up a base nearby. To the natives perspectives, humans are terrifying and incomprehensible demons. And all our protagonist concubine slave wants to do is pleasure her master and maybe spy on the demons. The second seems to be working but the first she is just so confused what's happening.
The first chapter and a few other spots are a little rough. But the style is pretty on point tons how the linguistic and cultural divide. Maybe a bit on the nose for hot button issues.
