Description

Are you willing to escape reality?

Larger-than-life heroes, evil villains, worlds of magic and machine; Tracy dreams of these each and every day—something beyond the pain of real life. Where instead of worrying about school and grades, she can develop builds and strategies. A world where she can fight side by side with larger-than-life heroes as an equal instead of being a disappointment looked down on by others.

However, deep down, Tracy knows that none of that matters. That the daydreams, the video games, and books are just something to dull her deepest pain. But, no matter how hard she tries, she can’t forget the nightmare three months ago, when her brother disappeared without a trace on a school trip. Nothing will ever be the same; she knows she’ll never feel joy again.

Until one day, a princess invites Tracy into her game. This mysterious visitor also tells her that her brother didn’t die but is now inside her game. She tells Tracy she can be the heroine she dreams of being. but there is a catch. A player cannot leave until someone has beaten the game. Even with the dangers, what answer could Tracy give except yes?

Inside the game, Tracy will need to team up with other players, level up, and navigate this bizarre world if she wants to beat the game and see her brother again. But waiting beneath the surface are terrifying villains, devious plots, and a dark secret that, if revealed, can change the entire game.

So I ask again, are you willing to escape reality?

Soulink is a Slowburn Gamelit. While it has litRPG elements, they take a while to develop while character development is prioritized.

Please be aware that this story contains light profanity, intense violence, and several horror elements. While horror is not prevalent enough in it for me to warrant the horror tag, I don’t pull my punches. I hope to create a good story, even if it scares a few people in the process.

Overall: If you enjoy animes like Sword Art Online and Hack, then this story is for you. Specially if you appreciate a 'Souls-like' game.
Character: Amazing! You did a good job by detailing and using some subtexts to create a more vivid image of Tracy. The highest point in my opinion.
Style: It only needed to refine the flow and avoid some redundancy to improve it even more. Like, using body language of the characters, adding unique voice and traits in their dialogues. And also, improve the text formatting.
Story: I really enjoyed the descriptions of the RPG elements. For a fan like me of this particular genre, was a good dish to take-in. I think this is one the highest point of the novel, it only lacks a bit of refining over the pacing and flow.
Grammar: There are some redundancy and weird pacing-flow, that makes the structure of the narrative be a bit strange to read. Nothing a rewrite don't fix, but its a point to be made.
    Tips:
    - The chapter's text format is a bit spacious with the double breaking-line in-between each paragraph, I suggest to let just one.
    - Embed the traits of the character while describing her doings, this will ensure a more vivid description for the reader. Use body language and sensory description for it.
