Description
Two bodies. One soul. Double the loot. Double the firepower. ------------------------------- Going to help subjugate the new rift was a mistake. So was crafting a new skill using acorrupted essencejust to survive. Now I controltwo bodies at once- two decks of skill cards, two positions in fights, two points of view at all times. But double doesn’t meaneasy. Flinching as the other body gets hurt, misremembering who has which skills mid-combat, moving with the wrong body… any of it could get us both killed. Or worse - only one of us. Luckily, lootingdouble the essencesfrom every kill lets us craft new skills and get stronger twice as fast. The question is: how far can we get before we– beforeIstop being one person? ------------------------------- What to expect: - Weak to strong progression- Dual body tactics & shenanigans- Card/essence crafting system- Rift delves, factions, long-term mysteries and conspiracies ------------------------------- Updates on Mondays

I'm caught up to chapter 29 with the advanced chapters already and I can't wait to see what happens next - IdentityRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0This was a pretty decent read. We learn about the world bit by bit while also exploring the power system, twin shenanigans and card progression.
The story is mainly about Dawn, soon Dawn and Dusk finding their feet in a new town after a somewhat troubling past, as newbie ruin hunters they're starting to get proactive in hunting monsters for essences, but things are getting rather troublesome around them.
Grammar is good, no mistakes I could find.
Characters are decent, the twins dialogues is starting to get more interesting, but interaction with other characters are progressing decently as well with quite a few distinct characters we've come to know.
My only complaint would be that some of the basics are only being taught quite a few chapters in, while the action happens at the very start. For example, apparently stuff like Very Rare Essences is supposed to be... well, very rare (or at least somewhat expensive), but the twins seem to be picking those up quite quickly despite being total beginners.
See, they defeat monsters, a monster drops essence, three essences create a card, but apparently you can punch up quite a bit with the right card combination, especially if you're in a party. And we're only informed in chapter 18
that it's apparently the higher 'standard' at the frontline where Rare and up are obtainable, compared to safer places generally only having Uncommon cards, as well as the rift they end up in at the start apparently being relatively easy compared to those that give Rare ones which are disproportionally more dangerous.
I did enjoy this quite a bit, but there's just these inconsistencies that rub my brain, or rather things that seem like inconsistencies and take quite a few chapters until they're explained, we've gotten a few hints on Dawn having a troubled past and them being pretty out of their depths in regards to card lore so it's likely that we'll learn how things really work as the story advances. - CosmorosRoyal Road★★★ 3.0This is a first-of-a-kind story that I have read where there is an attempt to have a multiple-bodies MC. It also comes with the benefits that the world system, for some reason, provides.
However, the characters are really annoying to read about. The number of times they said "we're gonna die" is a lot. Wanna go "A", we gonna die, wanna go "B", die there, die here. It's like they only think of dying or not going somewhere.
The world itself is also poorly explained, and more often than not makes no sense and is impossible to imagine. We just get some sort of general area description of a zone, and that's it.
On top of the system that is already starting to have scale issues. Our characters that supposedly aren't strong or are strong are already obtaining epic quality cards. The cards' powers on top make no sense and feel more like plot devices than an actual functional part of the story. What's different between a common healing card and a legendary? How about in between qualities? Who knows.
Then we get into a weird penalisation system; if you kill someone, the card you get is corrupted; however, you can also get a card from a dead person that's not corrupted. Who is designing these card styles? Why exactly cards? Why can only one person in a group get a card? It just doesn't feel natural at all.
The story is fine if you can ignore or don't care about these issues.
