Description
A broken battleship, two friends, one mission: stop the alien forces advancing to Earth.
The fun fair is not so fun when your friend vanishes and is presumed dead.
A decade later, Kade has the idyllic life: a fantastic fiancé, and a new place to live. Yet flesh eating mirrors relentlessly plague him both day and night.
Dragged by his fiancé back to the fun fairs hall of mirrors to confront his phobia. In doing so, Kade not only faces his deepest fears... but is transported to an alternate location amidst a colossal space battle.
Reunited with his friend and now in a gravely crippled battleship, they must work together to get out of the mess they find themselves in.
Only time will tell if their age-old friendship can endure or if humanity itself is doomed.
The countdown commences.

What to expect?
Lots of space battles, there is an M/M relationship with two of the side characters.
Friendship, and banter!
Going to see where this one takes me, when it does. I will load the first 12k and then hopefully keep a nice chapter every week for a schedule. This WILL NOT be loaded to Patreon in advance, I barely decided to take part. Wrote 12k yesterday, when I couldn't sleep.I do need to focus on the Cyberpunk.

- BobCharlieRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0What can I say. This is the beginning of an absolutely EPIC journey. Creepy old rundown funpark, check. Interdimensional mirror house madness, confirmed. Epic introduction to a 'system' and glorious space warfare, engaged.
Hold on for a wild ride! Smoke and Mirrors starts off with a bang, and refuses to relent. The pacing is perfection, the story hella intriguing, and most of all: The characters!! (But I'll get to that momentarily)
Style: I gave the Style category a perfect 5 ⭐ because quite frankly, that's the highest it allows. If there was more, I would've given them. Gladly. Kanundras style is impeccable. Precise, and wholly satisfying.
Story: This story is not deserving of anything less than top grades. It's an emotional rollercoaster. Creepy, sad, thrilling, surprising AF, and just all around enjoyable.
Grammar: This one speaks for itself. (Which is good, because my grammar definitely needs work) From what I can tell, the Grammar is flawless.
And finally, the glorious Characters!: They are instantly likeable, and quick to grow on you. By the end of the first chapter I found that I was already invested in Kade's continued success. The side characters are all impressively unique and full of character. Quite honestly, I am jealous of how well Kanundra writes conversations. They are so real!
Anyways, long story short, please give this story a shot, you won't be disappointed!
*p.s. Kanundra, I NEED MOREEEEEEEEE!!!!!! I'm dyin' heea* - David GilesRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's bee a long time since a first chapter grabbed me as hard as this one did and though it's still early days it all looks very promising, not to mention just how damn hard it is to find anything in this genre.
I can't wait to see how this develops.
