Description
Waking up in a white room, surrounded by bones wasn't how Chris planned on spending the rest of his life. He hadn't planned on ending up in an alien laboratory full of caged monsters either.
Inducted into a world with strange blue screens that hint at a world of fantasy, magic, and danger, Chris must survive until the System whisks him away for the promised Tutorial. If help comes too late, Chris risks becoming something less than human, or something more...

- AllantherRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Have read to chapter 25. This is a good story. Worth reading.
A few minor grammatical or spellings errors but they don't detract from the experience and will likely be edited away soon enough. - NefariousRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0It's superb. Action-packed adventure at a fast pace with Lit-RPG elements. The descriptions, whether it's for fight scenes or surroundings, are clean and tasteful, giving you enough of a mental image to imagine it and fill the obscure details yourself.
The Lit-RPG elements are well-executed and following from this, there is a good bit of humour with the main character initially acting as an NPC, then getting caught up in this act as more and more people fall for it.
Since Chris is powerful but not overly so, you get good story arcs where he can identify problems and actually affect them but not to the point he can just blow them over with a few sword swipes.
The city-building is interesting and it's definitely the part I'm most invested in and I would like to see more done on it.
The side characters are clearly developed with their own distinct personalities, and I would like to see more of them on Chris's misadventures as so far it's been more of a solo thing.
Lastly, style and grammar are amazing. There's the odd spelling error but that's the extent of it so I've got no complaints about that.
All in all, very engaging read that is definitely worth your time! - Rupie251Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Good story, worth your time! when the humour hits its great
- litineRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So far this is pretty entertaining. :)
Not sure if I missed it but do you you keep a regular posting schedule? - preadandeditRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I think this is a really good start to the story. It's really similar to Randidly Ghosthound, which the author likes to joke about, but whereas Ghosthound is complete seriousness in a Dragon Ball Z fashion, the MC Chris is potentially the most zany character I've read on the site. It's not as consistent as something like "He who fights with Monsters" or as purposeful as "How to Tame your Princess", but when it hits it's fantastic.
The editing is pretty good, some random errors here and there but not overly distracting.
If the author spec'd into more unique characters like Blibl, it would definitely become one of the best fictions on the site. The fine line for whether it goes overboard is how much the world starts bending to fit the characters themselves. Do it right and it's like Terry Pratchett. Do it wrong, and it degenerates into a bad loop of seemingly never-changing characters and boring situations.
I look forward to seeing what they do next though, because it could get really good really quickly. The pace of the author doesn't hurt either: having something to look forward to every day is awesome.
It's definitely worth a read. - Mister BillRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a fun one so far. I've read up to chapter 34 and the author has done a really good job. The worldbuilding is quite good and (spoiler alert) there's even a bit of base building. It's basically just the right amount of crunch, too, with the blue screens and whatnot.
It's worth a read and I hope it's on trending soon, if it isn't already. It's an up and coming series for sure. Give it a read and you'll probably like it a lot. - darkalter2000Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5Well written and action packed good litrpg/cultivation combo.
- ZethuronRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0This story is quite the good and enjoyable read, it does things just a bit different as litrpg stories like this tend to do, and it does them right, atleast up to the most recent chapter at time of review.
Christopher, or Chris is a rather normal person, one that loves playing MMO games, and would have kept doing so, if not for the system arriving on earth and taking away all its denizen in preparation for the Tutorial. He adjusts rather fast to having a status menu and stats in his real life, mostly thanks to all his knowledge and experience as a gamer, this allows him to get quite the head-start on other people, though does not prepare him at all for what finds him in the prepatory time. Now in the Tutorial world, the system itself treats him differently due to him not being fully human anymore, even if that does open much more possiblities, there are also huge risks attached to it, for he will be in problems when people find out what he became, and there is also the question of just where he has to head in on the path to power, either maintain his humanity, to try to be normal, to balance his sides, or even give in to his monster side.
Chris is quite a fun MC, i just like reading about him, it does help that he is a gamer and thus to a certain degree, already knows what to expect of the new world he is in and the system governing it all. He is not averse to actually tricking people, if he stands to gain for it, though its not sure if thats his instinct of a gamer, or something that came from his transformation. He may seem Overpowered, especially with all he recieved so far, but the challenges are also on par, and considering he is the MC of this story, of course he is allowed to be, within set limits.
There are signs that there will be quite the morality issues coming up eventually, mainly due to his changes, which are barely explored so far.
I hope he just stays like this, and does not become a maniac out for levels or something like that, i doubt the story wil - DrAltRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5System apoc, MC becomes weird merged slime creature. Author can't quite decide if MC is going to be a savior or a murderhobo and as a result, characterization comes off as shallow. Eventually this contradiction becomes more pronounced as author writes themselves into a corner and abandons the work.
I did enjoy what I read of this work, so leaving this review as thanks. Would not recommend picking this one up if its on hiatus. - SnoekRoyal Road★★★ 2.5I like the idea of this story. Manslime cultivation litrpg? Count me in! The story has some problems however, which need attention.
The action scenes are, for this site's standards, pretty well written, but the author relies too heavily on them. As of chapter 24 the story has been a nearly continuous sequence of action scenes. This hurts the story in other departments. Mainly the character section.
The main character has no depth whatsoever. He was next to his girlfriend when he got thrown into this fantastical world, but has (as of chap 24) yet to spare her a single thought. Very little time is spent on the mc's thoughts and motivations.
As of chapter 24 there are no other significant characters, besides the Mc.
If the author ever does a rewrite where he addresses the issues in the character department, I will certainly reread it. Until then, it's a pass for me.
