- XyrthurRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This story is engrossing and draws readers in right from the start. Its beautifully intricate themes, such as duty, sacrifice, and growth, paint an imaginative world incomparable to others. Zamiam’s journey is incredibly captivating on its own. The inner conflict between living his family’s legacy and going on his own adventure makes him one dimensional. When combined with a Level 4 Calamity and the promise of divine power, it adds an inescapable tension, propelling the plot further. The sidequest and the ability to view the character’s cultivation unlocks a new form of mystery and strategy genre that further immerses the reader in the story.
Along with Zamiam’s journey, his relationship with his friend Bohlo gives the story significant emotional weight. It is fascinating how Bohlo’s loyalty, coupled with his ignorance, goes against Zamiam’s more refined view on his family’s expectations. These act as glaring burdens descendants have to bear. The interactions between zealous characters like the Cleric Chosen and normal people are incredibly gripping, forcing Zamiam to face the realities about his mother and the painful world he now exists in.
The intricate details of the world-building are evident in how the rules of the Sanctuary are set. It has a structure that feels massive yet profoundly private. The writing converges introspective passages and action scenes really well, and the reader is captured not only by the events taking place but also by the emotional engagement. Overall
Things to improve.
More info about the cultivation system.
As an author and main character introduction in the first chapter always does well.
Also The pacing sometimes is uneven and all else is perfect - ChroniferRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0This novel takes a unique perspective on cultivation. My guess is that the whole system introduced at the beginning is a lie or rather a changed style under another system.
Style: The style is wonderful, I personally feel it misses a few beats for my cultivation pallet. Detailed description of the robes and houses in a chines style. But I know that would have taken from the introspective main character and narrative.
Story: The Story provides several mysteries from the beginning and can be a bit complex if you don't focus. It's intriguing overall. It is still beginning, though, and leaves a lot of room for the story to develop, I'm personally imagining a similar style to cradle.
Grammar: Actually, really good, the word flow keeps you absorbing a whole paragraph in seconds. I really find it hard to spot grammar errors since I find myself ignoring them totally to appreciate the story.
Characters: I haven't really gotten my hand on the main character yet, but the side characters are pretty good. Although Bohlo dropped the character ratings for me, I don't really appreciate that amount of boneheadedness from characters although, his character is well developed so I can't really complain much, just a thing of preference.
Quite a solid read overall. - ThisIsFictionRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5---
Style (5/5)
The story is in third-person, with great descriptions and long chapters. I bet some definitely past 3.5k words.
I like the style, even if some introspective moments felt too long, but I guess it’s normal for some parts to be less exciting.

Story (4.5/5)
The premise is good, but it’s not gonna be for every reader or even every Xianxia fan. I have a strong suspicion that things aren’t as they seem, though, that's why I'll keep reading.
I do miss more action scenes, but maybe that’s just the author's way of building things up. I stopped at the 10th chapter, and there's more to read.

Grammar (5/5)
Seems good enough to me. Maybe I was too focused to notice mistakes.

Characters (4.5/5)
The MC kept me hooked. He gets most of the screen time, and there’s no POV shift.
We have some bonding moments with his friend, Bohlo (weird name) and Bohlo's family. But overall, Zamian and Dante were the best characters for me.
Dante is OP, I'm sure.

Overall (4.5/5):
If you like some mystery in your Xianxia and don’t mind the rhythm changing, it’s worth a read.
I don't remember any face slapping or Young Masters yet, which was weird, but like I said, a fresh take. - Nim SkollRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Okay so admittedly speaking I was not expecting this to be as good as it was.
This book even unfinished though it is has enough plot to actually get a real book done...
If only the author didn't disappear off the face of the planet...
So give it a little read and maybe by then they will have returned - CreditAssignmentRoyal Road★★★★ 3.5just finished the first 10 chapters and I’m intrigued. So far the story is promising a coming of age context, political, intrigue, and mysterious powers to be discovered.
so far the story is promising a coming of age context, political, intrigue, and mysterious powers to be discovered.
In terms of criticism, I feel like as though the authors doesn’t completely have their footing where comes to the political intrigue portions. I felt like as though there were some jumps of logic or little bit of Exposition lacking.
still, it is an intriguing world and I’m looking forward to reading more. - The Storm KingRoyal Road★★★ 3.0I don’t like to see reviews that blatantly lie about the quality of a work. Especially when they aren’t even swapped ones from another author, does can at least de facto be assumed as lies.
It is very sad that Royal Road removed the like/dislike count from reviews so that I’m forced to write this one to set the record straight.
Though this is a general review it’s meant more for the author personally as constructive criticism. If it comes across as mean I apologise, it’s just frustrating to see good potential squandered.
The Grammar is most certainly not 5/5 - the Style is even worse, it reads like a badly translated Chinese Xianxia. You need to work a lot on your dialogues and descriptions of the scenery. The way some things are formulated is also often clumsy. But this gets better with more reading and writing experience. Try writing more short stories and doing them in different styles - maybe trying to emulate some other authors. This should give you a better sense for your own style and for when something should be reformulated. It’s important to think about what emotions, thoughts, etc. you’re trying to induce in your reader and if you are succeeding. We are not in your head, we don’t see what you see. Make us see.
The Characters seem pretty interesting but a bit flat - though I’d say that’s mostly because the dialogue style doesn’t do them justice. But if we look past that there is quite a bit of good potential in them. Especially the MC seems pretty well thought out - with his family problems and being thrown against the leading religion. To work on your dialogue just imagine the characters ans actual people talking. Would they really say it that way? Would you find it strange if you were listening to strangers talk like that? Or friends? Your characters are people not puppets. You create them but then their actions come from their own character and motivations - not from your hand puppetry. You are merely there as an observer to retell their story.
The Stor - NoTime..Royal Road★★★ 2.5Not for me personally. I believe author tried to make a sort of unique cultivation style/system. But I do not really like the terms used at all. Mortal, Chosen, Zealot is just weird for me personally.
Character/world building is also pretty average not good or bad. But lacking in a bit of depth.
Overall its not the worst. And if you got nothing to read id say give it a shot. I just personally read to many other stories to devote time to what I consider mid
