The first one was fine, I liked the character well enough but would still have apreciated a bit more time with them. Their death did feel slighly anticlimatic though that might just be me.The second really needed that extra time.
And that time was there, there were a few times where we were told something that I would have loved to see.
The test for her to entre the academy and later on when she was on ANBU where she broke through the encirclement. There were a few more but those were the ones that stuck.
That stopped hapening after the pace slowed down fortunately.
Besides that I have no more faults. I love her character and I think the world was properly established. Highly recomend. - Ben787Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Alright. What pushed me to read this were all the negative reviews raging about a psychopathic MC — I hoped they‘d be correct and was not disappointed. I absolutely love it. If you want an MC in the original spirit of ‘Naruto‘, you‘re completely wrong here tho.
Style:
Can‘t complain. There are long monologues, that I generally don’t appreciate. But those are in the original too, so I can‘t fault the author.
Story:
So far so good. Promising to do better than the ending of Naruto Shippuden, but that‘s not difficult. One problem — Minimal spoiler for the first few chapters only:
The fact, that the MC‘s family, holding the most vital industry of the village and extreme wealth, appears to be absolute bottom feeders, makes no sense tho. That should’ve been planned out better. The fact that there appears to be not a single Ninja tasked with protecting the weapon industry is wild.
Other than that, I greatly enjoy the more realistic and dark few on the shady side of the hidden villages. The way Naruto completely turned a blind eye to any of that, to the point of having others kill off his opponents, after he beat them, to keep his hands clean, is perhaps my greatest critique to the original. Konoha cannot be described as the good guys in this story, which I think is great.
Grammar:
Occasional mistake. Whatever.
Character:
As I said previously — an MC with some psychopathic tendencies. Pragmatic, no remorse and no great moral justification. Considering, that even villains like Pain and Madara were basically just misguided heroes in Naruto, that‘s a new concept to the story. One that I don‘t mind. Not everyone needs to be a saint.
We could tune it down a bit on the MC acting like a 5 year old doll lover (idk how to describe it, read one chapter and you will understand), whenever her life is not in danger, tho. I just read over it and it gets better as there is more action and plot, but yeah. Too much.
Overall:
I really enjoyed it. I expect great things in the future. - GuthanRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0If you came for a fun story with a crazy protagonist, this is the story for you. If you came expecting a stoic Johnny badass that never makes mistakes, then you might look elsewhere. Our favorite MC Asami is an amalgamation of the worst Uchiha fanon tendencies you could imagine. It's like someone took douche fanon Sasuke, jacked him to 11, and made him into the main character. It wouldn't work in a story that follows canon too closely, but the author is willing to walk off the beaten path here.
5/5 story so far. Plot holes are cleanly covered by MC being too arrogant to be proactive about stealing techniques. It's a great comedy that stays grounded enough in logic that it's enjoyable for those who came to see a serious story.
Edit: This story is a parody. It's mocking the wide majority of Naruto fanfiction which sets up Sasuke as a super douche. Please do not misuse the downvote button because you personally hate the MC. She is intentionally written to be hated by everyone, including the reader. - KillMePleaseRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0One of the things I like about this story is that it has its own plot and not just copying the originals plot allowing it to show a different perspective than other fanfics that only focus on konoha
Of course the thing I like the most is the main character her personality is like the cherry on top she's the perfect character for this story how arrogant she is how she understands how stupid the will of fire is when it start interfering with decision making and how the Ninja's of konoha don't have the guts to make hard decisions
One of the things I'm most hyped in this story is her meeting Madara I feel like they'll really like each other and would have a fun time fighting each other after all they practically the same - Lil-Pigeon123Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0Except for the first part of the story which was too fast paste to really feel anything worthwhile especially the tragic moments which were the most important parts for character development, I can't complain. Mc is a sadistic arrogant spoiled brat... I love it. It only adds to her cuteness. And her Lil sis adds a sense of purpose to the story. Mcs story development perfectly fits her character. Everything she does perfectly fits her character - fun, power and cuteness. As someone who has been betrayed by everyone she has no obligation to anyone (except her Lil sis). Although there r a few mishaps along the way the Mc knows she isn't perfect dispite how she acts (personal conclusion) but nevertheless strives for it anyway. Her enemies shall knw fear and her (loyal) allies shall knw the taste of victory. Don't knw why other readers don't like Mc at least she doesn't kill children for her own plans unlike the other hocage and their villages who uses them as foot soldiers.
- SwimmingEagleRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I dont normally comment on fictions, a habit im trying to correct. I found this story by accident and couldnt put it down. I just wanted to let the author know that i appreciate the time and effort put into the story and loom forward to seeing hwere it goes in the future. thank you for sharing it.
- A M PRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I enjoyed the story, and binged it in a single night, so at the very least I found it very interesting.
There is less of a focus on canon than what one might find in a lot of other fanfics, which allows for more development of the mc, which is an up in my book. In the most recent chapters that seems to be taking a turn and the mc is starting to interact with the canon plot.
My complaints are the frequent time skips, and the admittedly minor grammar errors. The time skips happen relatively frequently early on in the story and skip a lot of content, forcing the reader to infer from vague references later on. This isn't too much of a problem but it can be a bit regretful that there is so much that we miss, both in character development and simply interesting events. The grammar mistakes are relatively infrequent and aren't too much of a bother.
(Rough) star calculation
- .5 stars grammar
-1.5 stars plot/ time skipping issues
+1.5 stars unique plot and starting circumstances
+5 stars good execution on starting premise, as well as entertaining
TLDR:
Try it out, it has some flaws but it's entertaining and a good read. - EnjoyteddyRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This is what feels like to me a different take on Naruto fanfic. It’s a pretty well saturated niche so it’s not often you run across something new. Now that’s not to say it’s perfect as in some places there are what seems to be missing words or words out of order but i think that they are just mistakes in editing and don’t take away from the story. Good job, keep it up and I’ll keep reeding!
- Tanner_1000Royal Road★★★★ 4.0Being a avid reader and looking through the trending page I saw this fanfic. To be quite frank, most fanfics written on royalroad and on other websites suck.
However, this fanfic is pretty bearable. The beginning of the novel kinda had this slice of life vibe to it that I enjoyed, which then introduced the plot. Though I quite dislike how arrogant the main character is.
There are some minor grammer problems, just like no spacing sometimes but that's pretty overlookable.
To sum it up, it's a enjoyable read if you can overlook the main characters cocky attitude and her overall overpowered character use. - ElorieRoyal Road★★★ 3.0The writing is good, the setting familiar, but the character it's all about is utterly awful.
Completely unsympathetic, a murderous villain with no redeeming features except for an uninteresting and overly developed sense of superiority and well-displayed haughtiness, living in her own personal universe with no one who matters.
There's only so much of that I can stomach, alas.
