Description
Stuck in a Janitor Droid body, a lost mind fractured by fate becomes awakened during and Incursion. Join our titular MC on its journey from being a cross between a Dalek and a astromech unit with only cleaning tools to an immortal Eldritch Abomination. Enjoy the random pop culture references as they come to understand who they once were and who they want to be in the future.
Waking up in a tin can after a long coma was not fun. It tends to shatter minds. I did fairly well on that count. Some of the others in the project had... problems. I'm crazy, but I know I'm crazy, which means I'm not crazy. Isn't that crazy?
This is a Stray Cat Strut Fan fiction. You should go read the original here on Royal Road if you haven't!

A unique take on a character, a fun way of interacting with the world, so on and all that.
This runs with it.
The character doesn't just feel like a fun new take, but a character. From how their admittedly twisted logic plays out to how they interact with the world and others in it. The grammar is solid and none of the references feel out of place. Overall just a fun and interesting time.
Its more than just "eldritch in ______" it sets it up well, takes its own twists with things, and earns every moment in its story. - Dragon_Master94Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0So I read this because I'm trying to read all the SCS world and while I was fully expecting it to be good I was amazed at how much I enjoyed it.
While this does have some darker depressing themes there aren't multiple chapters in a row devoted to trying to overwhelm you with absolute tragedy and misery. Mostly Oggy is a fun romp who makes the most out of his absolutely terrible situation. I enjoyed and looked forward to each new transformation and ability they got. It was exciting trying to predict what they would do next and how they would interact with their friends.
Speaking of friends it was fun watching Oggy figure out how to interact with people again after being stuck for so long. They gave a good impression of someone genuinely trying to understand people and wanting to get along and enjoy things without really understanding what should and should not be done.
Overall this is definitely a 5 star story and worth the read. - KahunabobRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So. Another SCS fanfic. But this one has a twist. Taking the "Man out of Time" theme and using what seems to be someone from our time and letting us come along as a passenger for the ride.
Our MC starts life as a glorified sanitation bot. Think 40K servitor, or one of those brain bots from the fallout series.
It's fast paced, balls to the wall action-horror movie goodness. Lots of explosions, a supporting cast that works well together from where we are in the story sofar.
This isn't a story about a young barely adult person trying to figure themselves out and dealing with the horror of the antithesis. No, instead, the MC is working to become the horror and has a clear and full picture of what he wants to be. With abundant explosions along the way. Did I mention explosions?
The writer has stated this will be a story with a set ending. No hints on how many chapters before we get there, though. Until then, I'm grabbing on for dear life and enjoying the ride 😆 - kyomRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The humor and background is amazing. I love when authors flesh out things to the level of including psychology. Just wish for more description of characters to form mental imagery or art. It's nice to find a story with non human MC, as well. I love the scs setting as a whole so I really love the additional windows into the universe
- ernie.rRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Alright, I’ll go ahead a do a review. I’ll admit to REALLY LIKING THE PREMISE. And it hits all my fav pop culture buttons except Cthulhu, I’ve read it, I can appreciate it, but it’s not my cup of arsenic. But I can get behind a eldritch horror Marine going full giggling berserk in a fight. I know a bunch of Marines, and all of them, even the serious ones, seem to have a bent for joyful chaos. I seriously wonder if that is something they teach at Bootcamp. I saw a YouTube video on a group of Marines pranking some DARPA eggheads in some trials and I could completely see my friends joining in. I can also see them them dropping a gas bomb down an elevator shaft, or chasing after someone pretending to be a Dalek (Tom Baker is the best doctor BTW.)
First off. Spelling and grammar are fine, it’s hard to screw up there these days though with spelling and grammar check software, but word choice is solid and you expand on what you want to emphasize and drop the rest. Lots of writers try to explain everything. Which makes the story a slog sometimes. I assume that is part of the author’s premise that this guy is missing bits of his brain still and lots of memories, so he just does what looks fun in a semi lobotomized way.
There is so much room to play with this MC, I think he will have the most trouble dealing with non incursion life, or integrating into non janitor bot life, that’s a whole new storyline you know. Or does he just wander into he wilds hunting angry shrubs till the next incursion. Dunno. Like I said, lots of story possibilities here.
I’ve been sucked into this Stray Cat Strut universe because of the diversity of the storylines, because of the catalog system there is room for anyone to make a unique story here. I have to give props to the originator here, they did a great job leaving an open cat box for everyone to play in.
peace out ✌️ - LamoronRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5So, another Fan Fiction in the Stray Cat universe, and another one arguably better than the source material.
The writing is decent though not spectacular, but the main character is just an adorably logical killing machine, taking useful well thought out actions, gathering information, and using the system.
The supporting cast is pretty good, and while they could use some work I have a good feeling about the author and the story as a whole.
I've added half a star because of the many references to the webcomic Shlock Mercenary, but it's by no means important to know about that to enjoy the story. - OddmonRoyal Road★★ 2.0I read the synopsis; a janitor robot becomes a eldritch entity, ok, sounds cool.
I start reading… There was a very brief exposition about how the MC became a robot; it could have been much more fleshed out and delved into. Then, this brief exposition is directly transitioned into zero premise or explanation about what is suddenly happening in the story. Just: EXTERMINATE, die random monster that is somehow in the story for some reason!
Ok. So. I feel like this story didn’t ‘story’ enough? Sorry, I know the author wanted to jump into the deep end right away, but I couldn’t even get half-way through the first chapter because I was so baffled by whatever was supposed to be happening. Maybe the first chapter could have started after a few introductory/prologue chapters to get the story on its feet in a more sensical way.
