- DerPanzerRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.010/10 would recommend and read again
Had a blast reading it so far. Some things that may not make sense early on come together later, every puzzle piece connecting and creating a bigger picture as the novel goes on.
⚠️spoilers ahead
All of my preconceived notions about harems and stuff make me worry about how the author will handle Ava and Pandora, but I’m actually starting to not mind the idea of a harem. This is a first for me, even throughout all the novels, manga, etc, I’ve read and consumed. - mastr40bmRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Just started the first batch of chapters so i guess its interesting but has some wonky parts but don't all new novels do the plot hopefully will explain or block the unexplained bits this is fiction after all. As a new book i rate it 4.5 maybe i will change it to 5 when i find out later. Try it.
- PauljosephskiRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Honestly, this novel is pretty great with few issues. The MCs reincarnation isn't really a big mystery to be solved the whole time as it is explained at the beginning. The MC definitely has advantages, but not so much that the become a god within a few arcs. The one massive issue that I have with this novel is the introduction to a torture arc about 80 chapters in. Besides that, the novel paces well and I would recommend it.
- ghandijonesRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0This story is a really fun read and a satisfying power fantasy. The character's growth is well-paced and spikes at the right moments. There are a couple of odd choices and inconsistencies in the story, but overall, I’m loving it.
This has to be fifty words, so here you go. - MalboRoyal Road★★★ 3.0Struggles a bit at the beginning, but recovers and shows promise until chapters 60-80 of the story, but then the story begins to falter. I lose interest in the plot, it becomes repetitive, and it struggles to hold my attention. The loss of attention could be a flaw on my part =)
- GarrdorRoyal Road★★★ 2.5Edit: dropped a star cuz I checked back in (after being a patreon member) to see if he got a better reason for forming a blood pact with a former enemy. He didn't, she showed up and said
"hey wanna give me your blood? Your current nation will treat you with suspicion afterwords." and he said "ok sounds good, psychopath who killed me last life, let's be buddies!".
Just...very poorly thought out, plot wise and character wise.
My main complaint is that the story is populated by children, and absolutely none of them act like children. Beyond the reincarnated MC, every other 12 year old is far too mature for their ages.
It was a conscious decision by the author that creates a niggling feeling of unease throughout the whole story.
There are other issues, from the plot pacing to the setting to the way the MCs OPness manifests, but this characterization problem is my main gripe. - AoschinRoyal Road★★ 2.0Style
Not bad not terrible. I read better, but I read worse. Sometimes to long paragraphs, but overall, it’s readable.
Story
Oh boy...
Concept is quite intriguing. I personally like reincarnation stories, so I decided to give a chance to this story. Idea of supersoldiers and cybernetics as skills is great.
There is however one HUGE problem with all this story. It’s terribly inconsistent.
Characters change their attitude between chapters. Change their hecking personalities between chapters. Main character is cold-blooded killer with years of training and experience? Sure, but let’s make him impulsive when he fights because why not. Then let’s make him fight bosses in dungeons nearly dying ‘cause all chance calculation is like “Can we do it? Yes, we can.”. Another problem is that author tries describe things he has no idea about. I get it, it’s a common problem, but if you are telling reader that Dirk can forge stuff and then you are telling that he was starting forging with red-hot metal, you know nothing about forging. One youtube video and this could be quit nice stuff. Here we come to another issue. There isn’t even one smooth flowing process in this story. Every part is brutally chopped and then another thing is started. Dirk trains. CHOP. Dirk learns magic. CHOP. Dirk forges. CHOP.
Weird magic system with alive-but-not Dark magic, not very secretly secrets and mad mages… But maybe I am pampered with Supreme Magus.
Then this terrrrrrrible Asura Ark. Blood and gore is not how you build feeling of dread and desperation in reader. Especially not with this amount of badly made time-lapse’s.
And don’t even make me started about this “Calamitous-War-Primodials-and-Gods”. Chinese-Xiaoxia-novel level. If You ever read piece of that… things…You know what I’m talking about.
Overall follows almost every stereotype I could think of, it’s 2/5.
Grammar
Many, many typos. BUT it’s not machine translated Chinese Xiaoxia novel so good enough for me.
Characters
Dirk is supposed to - RustencelRoyal Road★★ 2.0Overall well writen story. Very well done mc and several rich side characters. Starts off a good story then later turns into a psychological grimdark story that is not warned in tags. Dragged into a dark whole and wish i never read this story and could whipe any memories of it from my mind. If like darkers masochistic stories will probably like this as is well written for what it is. Just not something that i should be reading and wouldnt have if author would have properly tagged the story.
- RiesRoyal Road★★ 1.5I really enjoyed the beginning, it was a great read, and I loved it. However, the protagonist suddenly becomes overpowered, almost as if the writer needed him to be stronger to fit a new direction in the plot. Even though I liked the start, the story takes a strange turn when another isekai'd character appears, even stronger than the protagonist.
The dynamic between them feels off. The main character's reaction to serious situations, like being mind-controlled, is bizarre, he just goes along with it, asking her to stop like it's no big deal. Suddenly, he's battling gods and dragons just a few chapters after fighting low-level humans, it all escalates way too quickly. - DnojRoyal Road★ 0.5Don't let the exciting first chapters fool you.
After that, nothing significant happens until Chapter 27.
27 CHAPTERS!
It's just the MC training in some technique that I don't really care about. 85% of the text in this story is absolutely meaningless. It's just some long winded explanation of some rare, esoteric magical cultivation technique that has no impact to the story whatsoever. Or the MC thinking to himself, that has no impact to the story whatsoever.
All you need to know: kid MC gets stronger. That's all.
I'm so furious. I wasted so much time reading the first 20 chapters, waiting for something exciting to happen.
Nothing.
It's just training. Training. And more training.
It's so goddamn BLAND!
You could easily condense the first 20 or so chapters in like 4 or 5 chapters IF YOU STRETCH IT. And I mean REALLY stretch it.
I tried reading a few more chapters after, since FINALLY something was happening. Tournament arc, and first dungeon dive. Ok, good, FINALLY... aaaaand they're back to school. And suddenly, I've lost interest again.
I don't want to do this anymore. It's a waste of time to read through this. I have to skip so many paragraphs of useless text, explaining the MC's thoughts or some dumbass training technique, until I actually get to read the story. And the story that's there isn't really that exciting anyway. I hate this. I hate how much time I wasted reading this, thinking there might be something good.
But there's nothing here. It's all padding. Fat. Waste. Fluff. Filler.
Don't read it, and if for some godforsaken reason you do, learn to skip paragraphs. Like, a LOT of paragraphs. I'm not kidding when I said around 85% of the word count here is useless.
