Seelebierg: Tales of the Dungeon Dwellers

Description
[Volume One done/Rewriting...]
It lies beneath the ground, under a massive mountain range. History books attest that hundreds of years ago all mankind was trapped inside. Nowadays people venture within its walls in search of treasures, fame and knowledge. Bigger than any kingdom, it provides food and resources to entire countries. Bustling human cities and menacing monster lairs can be found in its enormous caverns. It is The Dungeon, and in the world of Seelebierg everything revolves around it.
“Hi, I'm… Well, I don't remember my name, one day I woke up in this hellhole without my memories, even worse, I was a random filler mob whose only purpose is to annoy adventurers and feed stronger monsters.Since then my life has been a disaster, but I will get my memories back and escape from this place, it doesn't matter how many tries it takes.Oh, there is also that guy, Simon, he grew up in some mountain in the middle of nowhere, I swear the only thing in his mind is hunting monsters.”
“My name is Simon, I was a humble hunter who grew up in the mountains. One day my parents sent me with my uncle to become an adventurer, the dream job of any young boy. I was doing great until our party crossed paths with this strange monster in the depths of The Dungeon, I swear I won't rest until I have hunted it down.”

TL;DR: Seelebierg is an interesting idea, but it suffers from a lack of character.
Style: It works for what it's trying to do, but it's just not descriptive enough. Sometimes my focus wanes and I'm a little confused at intervals. Too much dialogue, not enough set dressing. 3.5/5 stars.
Grammar: Sometimes things are misspelled, but since the author isn't a native speaker, that's acceptable, as it doesn't detract too heavily from the story. What I can't so easily forgive are the uncomfortably long sentences at certain points and similarly poor wording, though sparse it may be. 4/5 stars.
Story: Every good story has a good premise, and that's what this has in spades. Without spoiling anything, the author knows what they want to do, they have the idea down and that's perfect. 5/5 stars.
Characters: The characters are, well, they could use some work. There's not enough personality between them to make them really interesting, and I'm gonna go back to the dialogue on this, but they simply talk without enough descriptive emotion or character action. They work, though. 3.5/5 stars.
Overall: The story works for what it's pulling, but it can be done better. I wish the best of luck for the author and their work. Sincerely, an interested fellow author. 4/5 stars. - Shizzle BlitzRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0The grammar isn't as big of an issue as I thought it would be. There are some mistakes here and there, but mostly it's fine.
Simon and his gang are nice to follow, but the rat's pov is definitely more interesting. Seeing him grow bigger, get a crew, all that stuff is nice to watch and fills that progression fantasy niche that Royalroad loves.
I do wonder if Simon's story will pick up at any point afterwards, since it seems the inciting incident described in the summary hasn't occurred by the time I'm done reading N10. He seems hellbent on hunting the rat, which I imagine is for a justified reason. For now, It's almost slice of life-esque with Simon's group, which I don't completely mind since we get more insight into where the characters are from and what their lives are like.
I do hope after all the setup is done and over with, you explore more of the world, considering how interesting it sounds from what we've heard from Simon. The rat is exploring more about the dungeon and it's clear there's some interesting lore about where it comes from and what it's for.
Overall, it has a lot of potential and I hope to see where it goes afterwards! Keep on writing, EuRoboto! - Elijah TalbotRoyal Road★★★ 3.0I have to say this story was pretty charming. Keep in mind this wasn’t written by a native English speaker, and so you will find a lot of mistakes. But look pass it and you will find a pretty interesting story. Granted, I only read the beginning, however, I am impressed with how it started.
Grammar/style: There are a lot of mistakes in this story on a technical aspect. Though to give the author credit they did do their best. It’s fair to say that the prose and grammar isn’t perfect or that good. Personally I think it is average, especially for a none-native speaker.
Story: So far, so good. The story follows two different POV’s. Simon and a rat character that hasn’t been named yet. Simon follows the adventurers guild as they explore the dungeon to kill some monsters. The rat person however, is the monster. So far the introduction chapters is building up some neat characterisation and potential plot points.
Characters: While I think the story is pretty good. The characters have more to be desired. As of now they seem pretty undeveloped, in the case of the character POVs they share the same voice. However, that is a skill that is difficult to pull off, especially with first person perspectives. I can’t really do it myself. I will admit that the rat person is by far the most interesting character. Mainly because I think they have more personality overall.
Overall: Despite its flaws, it’s a neat read. I can imagine the story will develop into something pretty cool as I read further into it. I find it charming and a neat premise at its core. So give it a shot while keeping in mind it is technically flawed, but know that in the heart of it is a charming story.
