Something isn’t quite right in this humble town—in fact, something has been wrong for the longest. In these unsuspecting, backwater boonies an evil presence lurks under a mysterious moon. Every October people end up dead. The culprit? One doesn’t exist—or so that’s what the adults chose to believe. For one teenage girl, that pill was a little hard to swallow.

Five years after a tragic incident befell her, Rachel Clovers, a horror fanatic, finally has all she wanted in life: friends. Her and the gang are all set to crash a house in the woods, but the ghosts of the past are not easily forgotten. The monster that had taken the life of her childhood babysitter, Morrigan Winters, was now after her. Or was it the other way around?

Aided by her best friends—the gothic (and sometimes nihilistic) Victoria Hagel, the beautiful (yet not so brainy) Ethel Parker and a host of other intriguing characters inhabiting Clearwillow—Rachel now seeks to uncover the mystery behind the hooded ghoul once and for all.
