Description

A dungeon core overlooked by the world. Not a reincarnation, no innate knowledge of the world; little more than a magical rock following its own path. Time will pass, and it will struggle, but as an immortal megastructure isolated from its own consequances, it will develop in unique ways. The system and everything right with the world will complain, but they will be ignored as the dungeon evolves horrors that haunt every zoologist’s dreams in its quest for strength. So welcome to the story of a dungeon and the ecological mistakes it inflicts upon the world.

The Core isn't a god, it will struggle to learn as it rises from nothing. It will mess up and experience setbacks, but like a child, it will learn. Those setbacks just happen to be the ecological disaster of introducing invasive species into the world.

The most brilliant point is the dungeon's mental development. It starts as an entity that struggles to get a grip on even basic instincts, flailing around blindly. And as it grows older it develops, growing in intelligence, strength....and gaining a personality like a human toddler would. Watched over by a caring but fallible system trying its best to teach and give advice - with very mixed results, partially due to lack of intelligence and comprehension and partially because children are not the most obedient or logical people.
And this story gives an excellent example of the terrible twos, when a toddler knows a bit and throws all caution and advice to the wind because it is sure it knows better...or just doesn't want to listen. All while the system desperately tries to make the best out of whatever mess the baby it is supposed to advise made.

Hey author, this is not a slow start. This is a normal start. I have seen far too many stories fall into the trap of too fast of a start. Now, every story will have a desired start speed, but too many go far too fast, with the end result of no initial world-building. You have the boon of the knowledge of good start speed. Good on you.

I really loved all the characters and how they were each their own personality. Little disappointed with how core ended up but it was a great journey anyways. The pacing was intense and it kept me on my toes, I really liked the detective slime, felt almost 60s detective vibe.

    Its good man
The main character is a mindless rock and thats a new take from what I've seen. I like the premiss and the whole "Gods are bumbling idiots" thging is funny to me. I feel like this story has potential and I'm excited to see where it will go.

I love this stupid dungeon and stressed out system here.
It follows such. Do you find cave man speech funny? Well it's here!
Do you like System bashing? Welcome!
Do you enjoy watching Gods seamlessly affect fate? There you go?
What about undead, stone worshipping insect cults?
This story explores the idea of sapience occuring from nothing, and the pains of that journey will bring you to tears and laughter.

Just read finished this today, heres my honest review.
Style : The story is written in a style that is very out of the norm in a good way, dungeon core except basically with caveman iq. I found it enjoyable, some wont to be honest.
Story : The first few chapters were very good (20-30) but when mc got actual sapience, it felt very weird and that the mc changed and how a major element of the story felt crammed in and out of place.
The grammar in this story was very poor in all honesty, lots of simple mistakes that I could see before I even read the paragraph, simple fix though.|
Characters in this story felt very static for the most part and some felt out of place? lots of abilities made no sense on the adventurer side. The monster side (shimmer goat) felt very nice but it confused me very much since some of them were like 100x smarter than the dungeon core and stuff. also literally everything got super cancer pretty much, very sad.
Overall, could probably go up maybe to a 4.5 star if things are changed, for sure 4 if grammar and spelling is fixed.

So this story is about a dungeon core that is willfully obstinate and self sabotaging, according to it's system. A system that is slowly being corrupted and enjoys an increasingly antagonistic relationship with it's core. It reads like a cross between a fever dream and a memoir. Shimmer should be the main character.
