This is a completed story of mine now being brought over to Royal Road for a new audience! Expect extremely frequent updates as I get it imported! 82 chapters, almost 200k words.

What to expect:

This fic starts fairly tame and fluffy, but gets progressively darker the further in you get, not every reader liked the shift.

Plurality is explored fairly heavily in the back half of the story.

Queer themes are present and have a fairly heavy focus to the overall plot.

Lots of violence and character death, along with body horror, again in the second half.

Don't expect for the main cast to escape cleanly, characters do suffer in this story.

This is a Worm fic, some knowledge of the setting will help and is expected for some of the AU twists to land home fully.

I have read this entire story on Ao3 at least 3 times. Fuck Nazis. Fuck Evil people ruining the government(Colin) and hug Tess. I wish to hug the Dragon so much. An interesting pair for Amelia, to the point I'm sure it's a rare pair. Hmmm, what else? I don't like Shadow Stalker, but if done well I'll approve. She was done well enough here but I still don't like her as a person. Again, and i can't stress this enough, fuck the E88. They're Nazis!

While there was some creative timeline alteration that impressed me a bit earlier on as I worked that out... Overall I was disappointed and dropped the story on a plot turn that made no sense.
I cannot think of a parallel I have just never seen a less sensible plot twist. I had some hope for this being a 'proper' worm fanfic with the promise of it being dark, but it's truly sunshine and rainbows compared to the original.
In a nutshell, this is a story with an excessive hyperfocus on E88 as the main antagonist, which is supposed to be the strongest gang in brockton bay, the other gangs barely get mentioned in passing even if they're just as bad (biggest difference is overall strength)..
And yet the author dumbed E88 down and weakened them to the point of just being a convenient sandbag for Taylor.
Not a single ABB affiliated character is in the story, only 1 that was canonically but isn't in this one. And there has been exactly 1 encounter with a merchant, who was just a common drug addict.
The only other villain of note is Coil, who remains at least mostly true to his original persona.
Except where Coil is involved, the story has just been a walk in the park. Taylor has a quite easy time of it.
There is a Lisa/Taylor relationship that interested me but it gets next to no coverage (no romance tag, so forgivable)
However what ultimately turned me away completely was another relationship.
Saying it outright would perhaps be a bit spoilery so let me put it this way.
Imagine if you will, the most irredeemable piece of human garbage you can think of. Imagine then a character to which that garbage has dealt unqauntifiable harm. Like almost all her problems stem from this person having come into their life. The greatest victim of a reprehensible worthless abuser.
And that victim decides to date said abuser, just out of the blue.
There weren't really given any reasons for it. Not really. The character has not a single redeemable quality.
