Underwater archaeologists have repeatedly used technology to 'salvage' history, piecing together fragments of ancient civilizations, providing the most credible models for the study of the Maritime Silk Road, and contributing to the high-quality development of the 'Belt and Road' initiative. Once, the British plundered shipwrecks in the South China Sea for improper gains, damaging cultural heritage and infringing on national sovereignty. In response, China established the only professional institution for underwater archaeology at that time, the 'Underwater Archaeology Research Center,' despite a shortage of talent and technology. After 40 years of development, China has gradually built a complete underwater archaeology system, with cutting-edge technology repeatedly aiding in achieving new historic breakthroughs in underwater archaeology. In 2027, the third generation of underwater archaeologists confirmed, through advanced technology, that a shipwreck was a warship from the late Yuan Dynasty to the early Ming Dynasty, providing empirical evidence for the status of Shanghai Port as a 'famous county in the southeast' during the Yuan Dynasty. The academic community was thrilled! However, the murky water conditions were not conducive to detecting and salvaging the wreck.
