Description
Kill my daughter to save humanity? Not a chance
Being a single father was already hard. Now imagine raising a daughter in a post-apocalyptic world filled with man-eating zombies and mutated animals. Add in a pesky disease eating away at daughter Sunshine’s body, and Jerome knew he’d be in for a wild ride.
But if that wasn’t hard enough, he came to find out from a group called the Underground Radius that this disease was called the Sunvirus—a deadly virus causing chaos and taking the lives of many survivors across the world. Since Sunshine birthed it, they believed killing her was the only way to stop it.
Jerome decided it wasn’t. If his daughter’s disease was causing so many problems, then all he needed to do was find a cure. That way, everyone would be happy. And it didn’t matter how many people, factions, or monsters wanted her dead—family always came first.
Doing it should've been easy too. After all, he was a zombie.
This story is inspired by Shonen Jump battle manga.

- AgaresRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0But very happy about the story!
I've had this in my list of things to read for the past few days and I finally sat down to read it - and damn, I should've read it sooner! The story is interesting, the characters are fun, and the pacing is pretty good - there's things happening and you can't be bored when reading it. Pretty awesome story so far, looking forward to seeing where it goes from here! - FiddlesoupRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0First off, the Main character is so endearing. The ideal father does fatherly things and does everything in his power to save his daughter. I absolutely love stories like this. Last of Us. Train to Busan. Interstellar. This story absolutely captures that same emotion. And It Is Great.
There is a certain quirkiness that takes a second to get used to. The characters scream a lot. The daughter calls her father Jerome. The MC is killed by zombies but suddenly gets superpowers. Character motivations feel all over the place (but actually aren't), and the world feels held together by duct tape until you hit about chapter 8, and the revelations start pouring in. There is a deliciously fun story here, and these revelations are essential to it. I reread the portion I reviewed with fresh eyes yesterday, and I feel deeply that this is the kind of story that needs attention. It's fun and fresh and unique.
Ratings:
Overall, 5: This is a unique progression fantasy. The world and concepts are fresh and fun, and the powers are unique and fun.
Style: Like I said, at first, this story feels a little weird and quirky; however, there is a purpose to all of this revealed around ch 8.
Story: This is a fresh and fun post-apocalyptic tale. The story revolves around Jerome, a lazy, lackluster man who loves his daughter and tries to do everything he can to help her despite the aforementioned lack of luster. When she is kidnapped, he gains superpowers and goes on a quest to save her.
Characters:
Jerome: A lazy, slovenly, weak man who slowly gains powers after dying. (in ch 1)
Sunshine: His daughter who
has powers of her own. She is the crutch of this story
and the best character by far.
Jason: Hilarious villain.
Dante: the evil villain created solely to be hated by all.
Grammer: Pretty solid effort, easy to read, no major red flags.
TL;DR: a Quirky post-apocalyptic tale with fun characters and a heartwarming father-daughter story at its core. 5/5 - Sololetter1Royal Road★★★★ 4.0I'll go straight to the point with this review. The story is good, its a good read and people should give it a chance. its a bit funny there and there and the description of the action is actually great. The characters are Ok they don't loose character traits in anyway which you can run into in some fictions. I haven't seen any gramma mistakes so far so.... nothing distracting. am enjoying this story. ( This review will probably change in due time)
- Saint HansRoyal Road★★★ 3.0The story itself feels interesting, the premise and all. Unfortunately it feels... Rushed. A lot of events are gone though quickly to advance the plot and it makes it feel cartoonish. Situations and events come off as forced, and the characters feel like they know more than they should or behave strangely just to move the plot. I will reiterate that the story itself is good, and enjoyable, I just feel it could benefit from being more drawn out— if only to make transitions feel more natural.
