Description

A journey to find a moon that isn't in the sky.

A girl with no name wakes up in a dark cave with no memories of who she is and no idea where to go. By a twist of fate she meets two rather peculiar people, who help her stand on her own feet.

But deep down she knows that she is still lacking something. Yearning for the knowledge of who she really is she sets out on a journey where she will find more than she hoped for, and far more than she wanted to. From cute mage girls, to ancient demons from out of time.

Having concluded it's first volume I feel it time to leave my thoughts regarding Sanora's Journey.
While fairly rough in beginning, a thing many newer authors struggle with, it quickly figures itself out. As far as grammar and spelling goes it's clear to me English is not your native language however; you quickly catch your stride around chapter 5 and fall into a more natural feeling style. In terms of content, without going into spoiler territory SJ wears it's inspirations on its sleeve but it does so proudly. Nothing feels out of place or jammed into the plot and it's very clear thought has gone into building a history for the world.
Being an Isekai story it does fall to some of the trapping said genre comes with but, I believe it handles them with grace and carves out a bit of individuality in a sea of sameness. My only major major gripe, well two major gripes is the pacing feels inconsistent at times and the characters, aside from Sanora, feel rather one dimensional. Now this is something easily remedied later on in a story but focusing more times on the relationships and characters is where I feel this story would shine. The dialogue already feels very natural and working harder to personify characters as their own with unique traits and quirks rather than skewing a stereotype would elevate the story above the slew of other isekais.
All in all I enjoyed volume one and look forward to seeing more and more as you evolve and solidify as a writer. <3 <3
