- Mu'erRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I really like this web novel. after the first twenty or so chapters, this really picked up a significantly enjoyable storyline.
- AnsraerRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5This one could be big. Really good grammar and spelling and so far a fairly interesting story. The only thing that has been bothering me a bit is that the pacing was a bit off in some chapters, but I think that this will get better with time. Definitely a recommendation.
- Creationism0Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5has everything you could want, and then some. Great novel with good grammar.
My one gripe is that opposite from other stories, the author is sometimes too verbose with things, and it can make chapters feel info dumpy with even casual conversations. - DeinosRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I agree with the previous reviewers, too much math, too much infodump, especially in the beginning to middle chapters.
But if you manage to overlook that and skim over it then the chapters further down the road give you an interesting take on the reincarnator type of story.
I enjoy it quite a lot now and am curious to where this leads. Of course there are still episodes of too much unnecessarily exposed math and info, but if you overlook that you can enjoy a nice story! - aadajoRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0I am usually trying to find either unique or comedic wuxi's or other types of work by other up and coming writers. And when I read this series earlier about the son taking a piss I truly and quite honestly lost my marbles from the laughter.
I also find this a quite unique take on a Wuxi as it's so far revolved around money making and of course the family. While others are on schools and the gathering of techniques which is annoying cause we usually forget like every single one of them.
While the possibilty that the MC will go to a school is quite good I hope it keeps up with the theme I am senseing from this series.
Keep up the good work on the series DeathHippe and please dont stop it all of the sudden as well. - Arashi ZarosRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0the story is quite good and do planned,if you ignore the math stuff then it will be good, especially after chapter 22 and begin at book 2 (chapter 25),that when the alchemy and other math thing become less informal/compacted infor dump and more good crafting detail that don't use math now, like when it show how he cooking,crafting,smithing,...,and there will be a lot more action when he begin to live in the forest in first part of book 2,don't give it up too soon, and I guess KARM4 just don't like the math thing so he rate down the "story" and other part too low ,because later there are more character developing and less 2D characterist here and more realistic thing show up (yes, the mc also do have flaw, try to read author reply in comment,he can explain some of it)
- ChabuRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Tbh the first few chapters are an insane infodump that, while they may be pretty clever in the way it builds up the world, leveling-system and karma dependancy, isn't REALLY necessary to know to enjoy the rest of the story.
The only other slight negative is that it's fairly slow paced even with the time skips to get through his age (so far at my point in the novel he's only, like, 10).
Also there's some weird grammar being used; the incorrect usage of the verb 'to drag' for example, author uses 'I drug ... ' as the past tense when it should be 'I dragged ...'. It's just weird as well as incorrect.
But all in all a pretty solid read which means it's a shame it's been on HIATUS for like 7 FUCKING MONTHS! - Translate7Royal Road★★★★ 3.5The story itself is great.
There are two primary issues. The first is minor grammar issues throughout, this is fixable with a proofreader.
The second is the amount of numbers. It gets really bad around chapter 16 onward. Here is an example paragraph
" Congratulation, you have created a new object: Wound Recovery Powder. Mortal tier alchemy production, total dose available for creation, 20.
Even non crafting paragraphs have lots of very very specific numbers about how much he can lift, how many hours a night he's scheduled to sleep. If you like numbers I guess it's for you. I work for a bank and like numbers plenty but reading about them bores me.
The early chapters show that the author is great at writing the plot of the story.
The first issue of grammar is easily fixable through editing.
the second issue of the plethora of numbers is also fixable through editing if the author chooses to go that direction. I would suggest taking out a great deal of this excess information and deeming it as non-essential to the storyline. I can give the author more specific examples if contacted.
If the math was gone I would love to reread it! - AcerbicRoyal Road★★★ 3.0I had high hopes for this one. And there's some basic proficiency in writing, sure. Karmic system was a good touch - a fresh departure from your typical boobalicous goddesses.
Unfortunately, even if the author has a great detailed system of the world imagined, the way he introduces us to intricacies of the fantastic new reality is left to be desired for better.
Its infodumps. :( Past chapter 1, its all infodumps. One after another, with varying degree of cover-up and framing, its exposition about the world and world's systems. Be it cultivation, bloodlines, magical herbs, politics - it is all in a form of a lecture with listings. Yes, there are characters and they have backstories, but these characters talk to each other about infodumps.
Cringe "smartest 5yo" trope was already barely tolerable, yet having him so bizarrely interact with his family was a deal breaker. As much as I enjoy magic/cultivation systems, I read books for stories and characters. The dantian, stats and qi are TOOLS to express fun adventures and overcoming challenges, not the goal on themselves. - BelgaRoyal Road★★ 1.5Grammar and style are ok.
The premise is a bit overused, but exploited in a good way in this story, with the MC chosing how OP he will be through a very well tought out system.
/!\ Minor spoilers below. /!\
Aside from that, I don't enjoy the story, I find the characters very one dimensional, both the primary and secondary ones. The parents are simplistic to the extreme, behind barely phased their child is a super-genius with and incredible constitution and a comprehension far behind his age. When given a secret cycling technique, or told thing he shouldn't repeat, he litteraly gives the technique to the girl next door, tells the neighbours what he can do, and everything works fine.
This, in itself, is easily the fastest way to stop me from reading further. Which is a shame because the system used in this story seem very deep, and I'm sure (or at least i hope) it'll be exploited a bit more down the line. And maybe for something else than just crafting myriad of potions.
The cycling concept however, heavily inspired from chinese wuxia, doesn't work well with the xp/karma system. Both systems barely interact beyond the notifications and the improvement of stats. You should look at it and either fuse them, or remove one of them from the story.
In the end, while I don't believe this story is great, I have hope the author will either rework this or end it and write something else, keeping his style but with more depth.
Cheers
