  The character here is meta-aware of tropes, or fate if you have it, but at the same point his logic is flawed and yet that is precisely it. His logic is flawed, so things happen because of his faulty logic. That's deserved! There is a potential resolution to the situation depending on how he leans into it, but that would mean embracing his new status. A fun read with a little quirk to it.
