Hey this premise looks odd but interesting, let's give it a read.
And so I binged another story. This is a wonderful gem of a sci-fi story that is plausible enough to make you think. The pacing is good, the characters are well developed and relatable. The tech is plausible, but not the main focus, rather the societal changes and challenges help drive it.
I really enjoyed this and look forward to other stories by the author.

This is an unusual book to find on Royal Road. Not only is it romance! (albeit sci fi flavoured romance) but it is also finished!!
The story could so easily have gone the way of the Handmaid's Tale, the concept is dark as hell. Instead this is a pleasant, slice of life romance with a little intrigue and sexual tension thrown in. Don't read this if you're actually expecting sex scenes though, the author skirts around the actual deed very circumspectly.
I personally would have liked a few more slice of life chapters showing the relationship heating up, but it was a pleasant Sunday afternoon read and you should always leave your readers wanting more.

After reading magic, litrpg, sci-fi stories on RR, which is my usual, I picked this up from one of the RR ads that I've been seeing.
I'll just say that it was a nice change of pace for me. It's well written, the plot is paced, no major grammer problems, it's also a nice afternoon read. I typically finish 200 pages in a few hours, so it makes for a nice break in between my other books I read.
    Potential spoilers ahead.
    ---------
The book is definitely heavier on romance - there is no smut - than many books I've read lately. It's a nice change, but its light and well done.
There isn't really any technical or high sci-fi terminology other than the bare minimum for the setting. If your wanting litrpg numbers and High Sci-fi, this isn't for you.
Overall I enjoyed this short novel, I'll be reading the others by this author.
I talked about the high points, but there is trauma as well. So not everyone will enjoy this as it may bring up memories better left forgotten.
Also, the master/slave paradigm is going to turn some people away, BUT it is not emphasized except for the character setting. Overall I think it would simply be borderline for most people if they care at all.
The characters seem fine to me, alive enough to empathize, but not all the characters are talked about much, several also seem to have backstories that aren't touched on much, which is a side affect of the novel's short length.
The story has a slow build for being of short length. This is good in that it provides closure quickly and stands by itself, but it feels ever so rushed to its conclusion. The author has plenty more novels though and a few look to be in the same world setting.
Overall I give it 7.5/10 because I definitely have a preference for a longer read with slightly more action. As a romance novel only, it definitely gives some feels. Id read it again, and will be starting the next one tomorrow.

At 1st wasn't sure because of synopsis but am glad I did continue on to read it. Overall well written. Comes down to personal preferences but excellently written books should be able to be read in one fell swoop or can be done overtime. Well done on having both options available for single book. Could use a little more ironing out of details (unless you were just inserting slices of life) but the level of this book that is just nitpicking.

This is a nice romance mystery sci-fi drama? :P
Style didn't especially stand out but it felt good to read so that's enough for me!
Liked the plot, just somewhere around the middle it felt a bit forced. Was also kinda hoping we'd get more of the comfy vibes from the start haha :D
    Haven't noticed any grammar errors.
The characters are interesting and they do feel alive with how they change, I especially liked a certain neighbour lol.
Overall would recommend if you want to read a romance that's not too light-hearted with quite the drama!
    ===========================
Welp my reviews are always too short. Random thoughts: the main plot aka the sci-fi element is funny lol, haven't encountered something like it. And it feels like it was a big story arc and not the full story of these two, was kinda hoping there would be more haha. Loved the cow moments :D The setting is pretty damn dark, and the misunderstandings at the start were funny but believable. Not a fan of the ntr bait but it wasn't too bad. Also hope the detective ended up with a nice life, mby some romance? And maybe it would be nice to learn a bit more about the world, why the north is considered so bad etc.

This is a nice, lovestory set in a techy future. The purchasing and selling of humans is the biggest red flag, if that doesn't turn you away they you should be in for a nice light romance novella.
Style: The style is nothing absurdely amazing but it is well written and I have no complaints. Some of the perspective changes between Paige and Harrison were not very apparent at first glance but nothing that would cause too much issue.
Grammar: If there were any issues with grammar, punctuation or spelling I didn't notice them.
Story: The story is intersting and lighthearted with some intrigue and twists. It has the fun slice of life aspects along with the family/ex drama. My only complaint is that the ending/post-resolution was extremely short. The system for the selling of humans was well thought out and intriguing. It created a system that could represent slavery, empowerment, prostitution and romance all at the same time. It was both creepy/sleazy as well as high class and I very much enjoyed the concept.
Character: The character development is wonderful with depth and growth of both main characters as well as supporting characters. The charachters have issues to work through, backstory to unveil, and personalities to fall in love with.

My review after reading most of the released chapters. Ch. 20
This is a Romance So people might find it interesting *don’t let the slave thing kill it for you
the main sci-fi conceit of the story is young women sell themselves selves in debt slavery? indenture? Then the Agency that they sold themselves to for money💰 make them up to look like fairytale princesses and then cryo-freeze them until they’re bought? Odd
The story is well enough written and whoever is writing it has stolen several tropes from your favorite soap operas including amnesia… Evil Brothers rich princess wives who have been infected with an incurable disease.
I don’t really wanna spoil the mystery in the stories as far as it goes the closest I can get to describing this is that some lonely guy in the Canadian boonies decides to do the mail order bride program and get a business partner.
