It's all fun and games until someone gets hit by a truck. Then, it's an isekai LitRPG.

Zane is a young man with the Chef class, questionable morals, and a rapidly increasing collection of pet spirit beasts. Pinky is a kitsune trying to find her fortune and have some fun along the way.

Using nothing but the power of friendship, murderous pets, and overpowered techniques, they must climb the divine mountain to claim their reward, or die trying.

Too bad they've managed to piss off a powerful group of cultivators. Apparently the sect elders don't like it when you turn their disciples into pet food.

Can Zane and Pinky hide from those who seek to do them harm? Will they reach the top of the mountain? Is their restaurant secretly a mimic? Read today and find out!

I like it a lot. It takes no trope seriously. It is sardonic, sarcastic, sacreligious to the pompous and boring .rote culti(yawn)vation novels.
I laughed in places and grinned in others. I am happy to still have more coming and i hope that you can find it just as amusing.

Got into this because it's the same author as murder cube, and it's a delightful mix of Cultivation / Insanity / LitRPG with the requisite talking animals with God complexes and plenty of that good old ultraviolence, don't you know?
Highly entertaining, and often highly amusing without being silly, I've been tremendously satisfied so far.

I might come back and give an advanced review later. For now though, I'll simply state that the story is a surprisingly complex dish, with a variety of flavors that are carefully curated to not overwhelm one another. You have humor, romance - in a very laid back and hands off kind of way, violence, world building, etc.
There are absolutely things that reach the point of "crack-fiction", like the idea that a robot would have functional bits, but at the same time it works within the world and doesn't have a big enough impact to really effect the story besides comedy.

I like most of this authors stuff, they do characters very well. The story moves along well with an amusing plot and ultra violence blended well. It will be interesting to see where the author takes it from the point of the reviewing. 40 words minimum review size is stupid, I’ve said what I need to in 43 damn it.

Once again Alex Karne has created a very funny version of a common Isekai protagonist. This would still be an extremely solid story even if Zane was the typical audience surrogate, wish fulfilment, amoral but still somehow the good guy main character. Instead he's an incredible dumbass, a Himbo with a ruthless streak and a genius on the rare occasions when he's paying attention. In other hands he could be irritating but Alex knows how to make him charming. The boy ain't right but he's got a good heart.
Style: The story has plenty of substance but it's all wrapped up with an abundance of style. The worldbuilding is particularly worthy of mention. It draws from a multitude of influences from all over the real world. Drawing from such a wide base give the setting a rich texture.
Story: It can be hard to tell this early but there's certainly a strong, character driven narrative, happening. I see no chance of the story falling into any kind of rut because Zane is incapable of making good decisions in the pursuit of a quiet life. I'm not sure he'd know what to do with a quiet life if he got one.
Grammar: Alex's writing is always clear and concise. I never find myself having to go back over a section to work out what's going on. It's a very fast read.
Character Score: As I've already touched upon the characters are brilliant, easily the strongest component of the whole. Zane is a charming central character but it's his interactions with the supporting cast that really drive the story forward. I don't want to talk too much about them because that road leads to spoiler town so you'll just have to take my word for it.
The TL;DR is magnetic main character, intriguing story, interesting world building and a strong supporting cast.

Oh gosh can I go on! If you want a great read with murderhobo connotations look no further. Only downside or alternatively upside is it ain't done yet 🤣

I didn't quite know what to expect when I picked this up, just that it'd been recommended by a few people... I definitely expected a slightly different kind of silliness. But this is more of a "genre-neutral wild romp" kind of story. The MC is a lovable himbo with very flexible morals, but also no particular to conquer the world and hear the lamentation of his foes. But also has that brand of himbo magic that lures in companions that will happily perform all sorts of violence on his behalf, so that he can stick to self-defence.
If you like Heretical Fishing but thought it could go a bit darker, this is a pretty good pick!
(Additionally: No Harem doesn't mean the MC doesn't pick up a hot babe as a girlfriend. It's just that there isn't more than one.)

Pretty interesting story so far, well written and engaging. It's a bit of a mix between litrpg and cultivaton, has some decent comedy, and a bit of mystery. Have high hopes to see where it goes from here. Also really enjoying the chaos the mc causes. The kitten is adorable, the horse is a horse, wonder how many animals he'll collect... but im here for it.

We all know that one dude, who seems to have the brains to do almost anything they want, but not really a clue how to pull it off, right?  Zane is that dude.  Yes, a childhood in the slums of his original life meant he's undereducated, and a lack of support means that he's got no way to manage his ADHD.
But, getting smacked by a truck may have been the best thing to happen to him.
Playing with multiple xianxia tropes, it's fun, light-hearted (so far), and there's an increasingly diverse and amusing array of companions (maybe your cat that always seems to be the heaviest thing in the world when they're in your lap is actually manipulating gravity... and never trust a smiling horse), it's a fun romp.
I'm enjoying it greatly, but it's not an urgent read for me.  I like to save up a few chapters to read in one go.
