Dragonborn is quite a gritty take on progression fantasy which I have been enjoying so far. Marc writes fun dialogue in particular with a lot of emphasis on the cast of characters.
The story starts of with Haledyn seeming on his last legs but still doing his best to keep himself and his friends alive. After being forced to their deaths, the MC is chosen by the dragon spirit and comes back to life, gaining badass powers along the way. It's a fun premise that I'm looking forward to seeing payoff in the future. The characters in particular stand out, with a strong bond already forming and a sense of comraderie that gives Haledyn a lot to play off.
The writing is high quality and well polished. It's on the slower end of pacing, giving the characters and world time to develop, though I never felt like the story was bogged down. Grammar is clean without many noticable errors as I was reading. It's clear that the author put a lot of effort into this work, and it really shows in the final product.
It's a story that I would recommend for anyone looking for something that leans toward fantasy with some strong progression elements, without skewing too far toward constant action for the sake of levelling up.

The pacing and characters feel good so far, but there isn't a ton of content out yet to really get a better feeling for how everything will be. My biggest issue is the swapping between present and past tense with some of the words. That really broke my immersion for awhile, but I did get used to it, mostly to get more info about the story.
Other than that, it comes down to personal bias. I'm not a fan of first person POVs, less so when present tense is being used. This isn't meant to dissuade anyone, as I do feel like this series has promise.

This has been a fun read so far. Though it starts off with us not knowing about the world around the MC, it seems to be slowly explained to the readers. I hope the understanding of the world continues to be explained and shown to the readers as the story continues. The MC seems to use intelligence vs being a brutish simpleton. Fun read. Keep up the great work.

This may be a good series in the future, but as it is it's REALLY rough around the edges. 17 chapters in we have 0 progression and each chapter keeps adding more and more names, places, cities, rituals, and powerful people we have no context for. As a reader we're just shuffled around from scene to scene feeling lost the whole time and without much in the way of progression to keep us interested. There's the bones of a decent cast of characters but the world around it isn't introduced really well. This is a drop for me, but hoping the author make this beginning segment more accessible in the future.

I really liked the summary and read around 20 chapter before deciding it was not for me.
Make no mistake, this seems like a good book with an as well as possible built mc, the premise of the story is good.
Stories where the mc and company doesn't look anytime soon like they will have a grip on their lives is not for me.
Still, thanks author for your time and effort to share this story.
