Welcome to the game, Genesis.

System Integration shall now begin.

With the dawning of the apocalypse, so to comes the collapse of society. How will Thomas and his friends react to the world crashing around them? Will they be able to carve their own home in this new, and dangerous reality? And will Thomas be able to fulfill the obligations heaped upon him by the gods themselves?

Writing Rise of the Paragon is a personal experiment of mine in writing a grand-scale novel within the LitRPG genre. I have written some fiction in the past, but none near as ambitious in the content as I eventually envisionRise of the Paragonwill be. So! Join me on my journey, provide helpful criticism, edits, or whatever suits your mind!I appreciate any and all feedback!!!!

Fair Warning: Blue Screens, and somewhat overpowered protagonists! The main character's point of view is described in first person. Every other character is in third person. That's just how I've chosen to present my writing style.

REWRITE/REVISE is currently in progress. Any suggestions? Comment on their respective chapters!

So far, really good. I can imagine everything while I am reading. The story isn't to slow and full of detail so you know what's going on. I like the system that is shown as well as the information it provides. I'm excited to see how this all lead up, but I'm excited to see how these characters change and evolve with the story! My favorite character so far is Alex, a brother of the main character who is fighting to keep his wife and daughter safe, seems he will do anything in his means to protect them. I can't wait for this character to develop, he may have the most interesting character arc. Keep up! Highly recommend if you're looking for a cool modern fantasy with a level up system. The system has rules and none of the characters have a bug or glitch or any of that. So no worries there. It's the real deal fighting and learning the abilities as they go. Don't wanna spoil for this who haven't caught up, but the build up is real and have faith it will deliver to even over achieve our expectations.

I thought this was a great find.
I'm a fan of post apocalyptic litrpg, and this delivers. I enjoy the characters and the scenario, and can't wait to read more.
Definitely pick it up and check it out if you like the genre.
There were minimal grammatical errors and pretty good story development, so I highly recommend you give it a try.

I have read up to chapter 65 and each chapter makes me more and more invested, while I think some of the naming is Corny, like community of genesis, overall the story has been really good and I look forward to where it goes next.
I also like the idea of base building without all of the automated buildings that pop up with the push of a button

The story is interesting, I’ll say that much; and the author has clearly started getting better at writing the further you read into the story. Off the bat, I would say rewriting some of the earlier chapters to flow better would be a great idea, just to get the story to progress smoother and to reflect the improved writing style of the later chapters.
Now, piggybacking off of some of the other reviews, the characters can use some work. Which, as a personal concession, it does seem like the Author is starting to focus on that front. I also support the idea that the Author mentioned of working on some small side stories to help develop the characters without drawing away from the general beat of the story.
The grammar was a bit touchy sometimes, mostly in the beginning chapters, but significantly improved further on into the story. The Author also does a good job in considering suggestions/corrections given in the comments, so I’ll give him that. Plus, and as a note, the grammar is actually perfectly fine as long as you aren't too nitpicky. There are just some words that obviously had a typo in them.
The style is also… Interesting. I’ll say that a lot of the stuff introduced in the story isn’t all that much different from what I’ve seen from other stories I’ve read, but there are also some novel introductions as well that I haven’t seen in other stories, mainly regarding the ‘Town-Management’ aspect of the story.
I’ll be one of the first to say that I am a sucker for blue screens and litrpg novels, so I may be a bit biased here when I say that I love looking at the information he presents; but the timing can use some work as to not disrupt the flow of some major moments in the story.
I understand throwing free-attribute points when the need arises, but maybe find some way to cut down on the length of some of the status screens, or just occasionally use them in a way that they don’t interrupt the flow of battles.
On another note, the novel is a bit… Slow. It takes a wh

I am liking this story, but the characters are totally dumb. You have MAGIC!!!!! Use that magic to dig holes, build walls and strengthen your community. This is the F-ing apocalypse! Some of the characters are so concerned with trivial things, like if someone is gonna get hurt. Everyone should have a combat class regardless of the fact of them wanting to kill things or not. No one should be allowed to sit around and not contribute.

The story is good and it has the potential to be a great litrpg story.
First I will talk about the good parts: The game has become the reality, a bit far-fetched but is an excellent premise for a litrpg and the background satisfies.
Second I like the way MC knows that what is he going to face in the end and what he needs to do in order to defeat such monsters. He has a clear long-term goal from the start. He is not taking a roundabout approach and is refreshing to see this in a story.
Third, MC is more knowledgeable about the world but is far from all-knowing super confident MC who have instinct or hunches for danger and after surviving with help of plot armor, gets OP.
Now for the parts which I think are a bit lacking. I have taken liberty to add suggestions also and a Mild spoiler alert:
One the enemy is too strong right off the bat, I know the author has outlined this in starting but when a monster with 10000 strength comes to present-day earth, he can annihilate whole humanity within few days, if not hours. I think it would be better if MC took time to describe the coming of demon champion a near-future event as it has occurred in-game and he needs to prepare for it. The timeline has been accelerated due to gods delaying their arrival. Find some other monster that should not have been to earth this early after the opening of rifts but is now on earth due to interference of gods and now is wreacking havoc. Make the demon whatever OP for current MC but MC can defeat him within few weeks of leveling with his OP class.
Second, the journey of MC till now seems too artificial and the side characters seem a bit bland. This can also be remedied by adding few small details like his best friend should a bit jealous when he didn’t get the OP class but will stick with his friend when he has he is in danger during imp encounter or his girlfriend is paranoid about him taking unnecessary risks and as she doesn’t understands the games and how her new game worlds work keep fussi

The story of a highly bland, wish fulfillment, Over Powered MC given vast power because he did well in a video game. He might not be a Gary Sue, so that’s nice?
The author also puts the last two paragraphs of the previous chapter in each new chapter, padding out the pages and making you skip over it to read anything new.
The writing and grammar are fine, but the paragraphs and descriptions go on for longer than they need to. A paragraph will take up half a page just to tell you that something bad is going to happen while adding no important descriptions or information other than that.

It's a basic system apocalypse novel. And it ain't done well chief. Any time something significant happens, you'll be bombarded by blue boxes and status screens. Which completely kills any momentum the story builds.
The world gets nerfed and the m.c. gets an O.P. class so he can be awesome. Which amounts to no struggle for Mr m.c. Makes it feel like his competence is cheap and unearned. Cuz make no mistake, the world revolves around him. O.P. class, perfect girlfriend right out the gate, racial evolution, special system privileges, etc etc. Even his family and friends are all perfectly safe in an apocalypse, so all is peachy. Forget about their family, they don't matter.
Power scaling is broken. Dudes level 4 with 20-30 points in strength and can lift a car. Apparently, it's not uncommon for high tier creatures to have strength in the 10000 range (the example given was demon champions). So what's that translate to? An errant fart destroys mountains?
It should be noted that this is the type of novel where you're strong because the system tells you you're strong, not because the system is a reflection of your hard work.
Action is dull and lackluster, characters are flat and boring. Soldiers are just walking propaganda stereotypes that will tell you about their sacrifice.
Lastly, it seems this story doesn't have a direction. Overall, I don't recommend reading this. You might like it if you really love system novels, but even then it's not well done. Maybe my expectations are too high, and I've been spoiled with great webnovels recently. But I just didn't find any part of this story enjoyable.
