I was completely drawn in by the first chapter. The portrayal of Malik's awakening from stasis and facing danger was intense and gripping. The vivid language used painted a clear picture of Malik's physical and mental state, and the descriptions of his surroundings, only added to the tension of the situation.
I was impressed by how real the main character act. His strong sense of duty and determination as he tries to save his crew was inspiring. The use of short, punchy sentences conveyed his urgency and determination, making the action and events easy to follow.
The sensory detail, really helped to create a vivid and immersive experience for me. The struggle for survival against impossible odds was a central theme of the story, and Malik's fight to save his crew and overcome his own limitations was a testament to the Author abilities.
Overall, I found this fiction "Ripples of Starlight" to be a well-written and engaging portrayal of a man facing danger and rising to the challenge.
Disclaimer: I did not dive deep into the story and this review may be backwards

I rather enjoyed this. I was invested into the story pretty much from the start. Thought the pacing was good and characters well fleshed out. I'm looking forward to see how everything plays out. Hopefully the author will come back soon. Though I dislike the ending, I did appreciate it.

The story of Ripples of Starlight opens up with the protagonist Malik waking from cryosleep. He quickly awakens the rest of their crew as they try to figure out what is going on with the ship, only to find it is on a collision course to the planet Ryujin.
The writing style and the vivid use of imagery paint a detailed picture of every scene in the book. The descriptions are layered and flow very nicely throughout, mixed in with some well written character interaction. The set piece reminded me of dead space and event horizon and the adherence to scientific realism, with a sprinkle of fictional science jargon really sells the futurustic nature of this adventure. I love the atmosphere, an air of dread and tension permeates throughout the first few chapters of the story and leaves me wanting more.
The grammar is top notch and rarely is there any errors.
The characters are unique, having very distinct voices that accentuate their traits and make them memorable. The interactions between them and the banter that arises feels very natural and suited for each scene that they are in. My favorite so far is Jackson and his smartass quips. The main character Malik is driven and goal oriented, subscribing to his own moral code almost to a fault. I like the direction that this character is going and can't wait to see what the rest of the story has to offer.
I definitely recommend checking this out if you like sci-fi, space adventures, or planetary exploration stories.

A real gem on this site! I'm giving it a 5/5 overall because it's so different from what you usually see here, and that difference is backed up by genuinely quality writing. This could be an actually published book if the author keeps up this level of work.
    Style: 5/5
From the very first chapter the author sets the scene with powerful language. You can see what's happening, you can hear it, sometimes you can even smell it. Absolutely one of the more gripping works I've read here so far.
    Story: 5/5
Man on an alien planet, what's not to like? And the further we read, the more alien it gets. Something suspicious is happening here. And those trees spook me to no end. I even dreamed about them last night. The author has won when their readers dreams have been taken over by their work.
    Grammar: 5/5
Someone did their editing. The author writes in clean, clear, proper English, except where accents and slang is involved. Not much else to say about that.
    Character: 4.5/5
Characters are generally rock-solid. I got a sense for who everyone was quickly, and I remember who these names actually are long after they slip from the narrative's immediate vision. I'm dinging half a star for the MC's very rapid descent into imagining conversations with animals. Maybe he's from an extremely social culture and doesn't adapt well to being alone, but it felt a little too sudden. That's the only bad thing I can say about this story.

I lied a little in the title, you do need a little suspension of disbelief, in that you need accept the science fiction premise of the story. But once you believe that spacecrafts are real, everything else just follows naturally. The author has done such a brilliant job describing every scene, every conversation, every aspect of their impending doom and the condition of their spaceship. Everything just feel real and sits right. In the entire story so far, I haven't noticed anything out of place. Maybe an aerospace engineer will, but as someone with no technical background on how spacecrafts should be, I was sucked right in, and not disappointed even once.
Style Score : The author has a straightforward narration style but with an extra detail when describing the events and perspectives. In the very first chapter, once the MC Malik is rudely awakened from his deep cyrogenic sleep, the sequence of events that follow from his POV are expectionally well written, and will give you a window to the author's writing style. I've given 4.5/5 on style due to one small problem. The attention to detail and meticulousness sometimes leads to too much detail that affects the pace of plot progression.
Story : The story starts with the crew of Starlight Journey finding themselves untimely awakened, and their vessel only a couple hours away from crashing into a planet. They also have with themselves a large number of colonists, saving whose lives is their high priority. The stakes grow over the chapters, with a lot of focus on the distribution of responsibility between the crew, everyone doing their job and working together to avert disaster. There is also an elements of intrigue which I won't spoil.
Grammar : I didn't notice any issue with the grammar in my reading.
Character :  The main character Malik is the one we follow along the most, but there is a larger set of characters with surprisingly well developed personalities within just 5 chapters that I've read. They all have distinc

The opening on the spaceship is rough but tense. There's a lot of characters, but not much time given to them, aside from the main character. The writing is remarkable, a lot of fun with words and great descriptions. I do not pay much attention to grammar but I didn't notice any mistakes.
Towards the end of introduction, when the main character is alone, the story starts to come alive, and does so fully right after that. Writing about a single character when there aren't any others to interact with is an interesting challenge when it comes to keep the reader interested through finding a balance of action and introspection and it is done very well here.
I look forward to reading more and seeing what happens next.

Well written in my opinion. Has a great and captivating storyline. The main characters humorous reactions to events makes him relatable to us earthbound humans. The pace of the story is good and doesn't bog down with over explanations of the scientific nuances that can be prevalent in so many sci-fi novels. I can't wait to follow along with this adventure.

Style is great, and the writing is honestly beautiful. There were a few sentences where I got a little lost, but those were in the far minority.  I have a shorter attention span than most, so at times it seemed to be moving a little slow, until the plot really started rolling.
Grammar is impeccable. Not a single error was found throughout my entire read so far.
Story is rich, and not at all forced.  If you like scifi, this is what you should be reading.  The tech feels real and the scientific terminology is original, while still grounded in actual etymology.
LIke I said earlier, I felt a little lost in the middle of the cast right at the beginning, which I believe is intentional by the writer, but as they developed, each one had their own tone and voices emerge in a way I could clearly understand.
Kudos.  Some of the descriptions I found were truly works of art.
TLDR,  Fun read, slow burn, Science realism.
Thats all I have to say at this point in my space journey, Ill signal back to you after I have survived my first grueling month on this alien planet with Mr. Apex predator himself.

A worthwhile read for most sci-fi fans.  Malik, the protagonist, wakes up on a starship that is rapidly being abandoned on necessity.  And he knows nothing about the alien world that will be his refuge.  He promptly goes about naming this new world as well as the creatures he encounters there, and he undertakes a quest to reunite his crew and colonists.
The alien world is designed well.  It has familiarities with earth – expected since it would be made from the same elements and the world is (presumably from conditions but not explicitly stated) in the goldilocks zone – but shown to be just different enough to be alien.  The futuristic technology is handled in a very Trekie way – this is soft sci-fi.
    Style: 4.5/5
Good description using all the senses brings out the experience of being stranded on an alien world.  The sting of saltwater on open wounds, the dull taste of ration bars, the rough hide of a “crocogator” rubbing your skin as Malik rides it to an island sanctuary, the urge to vomit from sea sickness on a stormy night are all experienced.  MM’s style is imaginative and descriptive.
One quirk the author has is to frequently describe and action by comparing it to something else.  While this can be quite forceful when done sparingly, MM does it on every page.  This leads to his style being a bit wordy and repetitive.  It’s good self-published material, but could use a word cut.
    Story: 4.5/5
Malik is a man with a set purpose – to reunite his crew and the colonists.  But he’s stranded on Ryujin outside of any radio contact and with limited provisions – creating an excellent bedrock of tension.  New discoveries, dangers, and friends met along the way keep the story interesting.
The Trekie style approach to the future tech is acceptable for soft sci-fi, and I won’t knock it since the story is appropriately labelled.
One semi-plot hole is Malik’s seeming aversion to experimenting with what he can eat.  In the 31 chapters written he goes through nearly all his ration
