Restart (Reborn as a Reluctant Demon Lord, Book 2)
Community Rating
Description
This is book 2 of the series! If you haven't read book 1 (which you can find herehttps://www.royalroad.com/fiction/34776/new-game-reborn-as-a-reluctant-demon-lord-book) then you should probably do that first to avoid spoiling yourself in the synopsis.
But that's just a suggestion. If you want to be confused, go ahead.
Have I used enough space so that you can't see this in the preview yet? Okay, good.
-----
For a [Demon Lord], not even death is the end.
So, after death, I found myself revived once again in the world of Placeholder as a grotesque monstrosity.
That was my first reincarnation, but it would not be anywhere near my last.
Disillusioned with the admins and their quests, and wanting nothing more than to fix the mistakes of my past, I set out with a new goal in mind.
To bring back the woman I loved. Or maybe... to ensure that she never died in the first place.

- XnoxRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0oh my, this is the best book I've ever read on this site, whenever a new chapter came out I was giddy it's so good it's not even funny every chapter is a nigh perfect mixture of comedy and drama and everything makes (to a degree) sense I genuinely cannot wait for book 3 to be released
- XtraRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Writing is better and there are lots of excellent chapters where the stories are brilliant. But the story isn't as solid because there are a wider cast of characters and things get more complicated. Not a bad thing but it does go existential like a person thinking about climate change. It is less grounded because it doesn't follow the normal structure anymore of isekai and virtual reality stories. The book could benefit if it included more senses and describe the environment and cities more. We get a few places but there needs to be more like when the author describe the fragrance which helps visualize the place and ground the character. The strength is in the plot and being able to carry the reader on. Easy Read and enjoyable.
- GarrettttttRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Just like the 1st book: worth it.
Just like it will be for the 3rd book I'm sure.
The characterization is great. Filled with a wide range of unique characters who all serve a purpose to create interactions that breathe life into amazing situations that can be both comedic and dark.
The world building is superb. Every reveal of all that appears in this story is well thought out and impeccably timed to add to the story and interactions between the characters in their respective situations.
The writing style is sound. Such as it could leave you reading chapter after chapter with little concern for sleep until it's too late.
There are no grammatical or spelling errors. Which is a great thing to have that ties this story together into the bundle that makes this story what it is well.
Can't wait to read the 3rd book. - MonolithicRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0First off, I am generally not one to review stories I come across, but I make one exception: an interesting concept. It doesn't matter if the grammar is bad, or sub-par characters(not that this story had many), it doesn't matter over concept. In this regard, this story delivers, taking and old pre-established classic hero-vs-demon lord take and building on it, shoving us into a game world that's... clunky at best.
The story follows Titus, placed into the reluctant position of the demon lord in the world of placeholder(probably should have put this in a review for the first book), and naturally schemes and hijinks ensue.
The plot wanders and is rather loose, but it does not meander, as there always seems to be something brewing.
All in all, it is a good read just for the idea, not to mention I'm a fan of the large page count. Give it a read, you won't be disappointed. - GGOAPRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I started reading books recently and this was one of the one's that i read when i only started reading here in RR and i am not in the least dispointed It still has that same quality and i still love It to this day.
When its sunday evening here i go there and when i see that the chapter arrived i am very happy do thanks for the story. - VeldorRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I read a lot of stories on here. Some i enjoy some I don't. But this right here is something else. It makes me feel. Lol not the nicest emotion mostly but that's not a bad thing. I'm really on team Titus so when things don't go so great for him it doesn't sit well with me. He is a great guy in an unfortunate position. Now this all sound like this second installment is just sadness from beginning to end. Lol it somewhat is but that's only because the character I care for isn't dealt the best of cards. It's actually very good. Extremely good. You won't regret reading this.
There's a lot that goes down here. A lot you don't want to miss. So go on, start reading and once you are done do the right thing and give TitusGM the 5 stars he rightfully deserves. - UsernameisalreadyinuseRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5As mentioned in my b1 review (i think it was a little while ago) this is a really good litrpg! Interesting premise, good characters, worldbuilding, progression etc. I'm not putting any spoilers in this review for the sake of anyone who may accidentally start reading this before book 1. PLEASE READ BOOK 1 FIRST!
- CrepeMakerRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5It's really good and you should read it. It's got a good story it's got the good characters and the chapters are very long. I'm not sure what else to say because I need to reach the 50 word limit to post this review uhhh... author keep up the good work, anyone reading this review make sure to check out this story and just to recap from earlier it's a really good story.
