Zenichi, once a bright student, falls into despair after the death of his parents and considers ending his life. One night, while preparing to commit suicide, he hears a woman and child being attacked in an alley outside his house. Despite his own pain, Zenichi is reminded of the family he lost and decides to intervene. He confronts the attacker but is shot in the process. Despite the severe injury, Zenichi manages to fight back, aided by the woman, and they disarm the man. Realizing he can still make a difference, Zenichi feels a sense of purpose before succumbing to his wounds. As his life ends, he is transported to a new world, beginning a new journey.
