- gliglithRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm very impressed by this story. I am not super familiar with its genre, but I think that is actually a strength, because this piece is impeccably crafted to the point which I feel it to be a great introduction for people less familiar with xianxia and cultivation to those story principles.
Style: The style is the best implementation I have seen of present tense perspective by an amateur author, FULL STOP. Seriously. Present tense is such a difficult thing to get right, and this fiction does it so effortlessly that I did not even realize the story was in present tense at first - this cannot be understated as a serious achievement.
Story: We're still fairly early in the story, but it is very easy to relate to our main character and their shortcomings. It makes you want to root for the protagonist, and at the end of the day that is the most important aspect of any story.
Grammar: Once again, this is in present tense. And I noticed no grammatical errors in my readthrough. That is such a wild thing to be able to say but it is the truth. Honestly, great job.
Character: Our main character gets five stars, because they are so easy to relate to, but the only real gripe I have with this story is that I feel that some other characters kind of blur into the background of what is otherwise an engaging and extremely well crafted story. - Boy BayawakRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0First of all... the names... the names are cool
Azreal? Junai? Kayleen? I ought to learn from you sir haha!
Story: I actually had to read until chapter 10. My first Xinxia webnovel was Tales of Demons and Gods. So I have an idea about the structure of the story. Its almost the same as the other Xinxia I've read. My suggestion is to make a twist on it!!
Style: Pretty good, now that I'm studying how to actually write stories in english. This one has a good flowing story. Not that long and not that short, and the cliff hangers... as much as I hate it, I just had to click to the next chapter!!! Good job!!!
Grammar: As I've said, now that I'm actually studying how to write english (I suck at english) I immediately noticed that your story is told in present tense. I didn't know that it was much better as it is told as it happened. GOOD JOB!!! I learned a thing or two (Actually a lot) When I was reading this!!!
Characters: Hmm... it was the girls honestly that kept me reading up to chapter 10. Though I understand that people in Xinxia always looks down to the lower disciples!!! (Twist it sir!!!) but that's Xinxia!!!
Over All: The story the grammar... it kept me reading and when I noticed that it was on present tense BOOOOOOOM!!!
Suggestions: Do something to make it stand out. Since you already have followers and such. Imagine playing a rock(Twist) music at a classical(Xinxia) concert. - Class: JonathonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0I'm reviewing this early, beacuse I'm seeing a lot of potential in the story... I'm at Chapter 5 and the storytelling is promising and the world building interesting.
The premise is good, the MC motivated and developing well... will be interested to see where it goes.

After burning through the first chapter I immediately checked for the following entries and was so excited to see more. I can't wait.
- gajensenRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Story
Really love the story so far! Azreal’s journey to take on the exam for the Heavenly Root Sect feels very fleshed out in its lore, magic system, and power structures. There’s so much to explore in this world and Azreal’s adventure so far is off to an intense yet fun start. The world Azreal’s explores is exciting and I really liked seeing him experience his new powers, unshackling from his dreary life from before.
Character
Azreal I found to be really relatable. Starting off at the bottom rung of society, always kicked down by the more powerful and feeling like dirt, only to be given the opportunity to become something more is super exciting to watch. He also learns from others and is encouraged to be better (I’m thinking of Kayleen), which I really enjoyed. I have a feeling his enemy he faces at the beginning will have a larger role in the future, so I’m excited to see if and when they clash.
Style
While I’m not used to present tense narration, I found it fun and easy to read for Azreal’s adventure. I also found the story easy to read and pretty fast paced. Great descriptions of the characters and environments, I could really see everything as I read.
Grammar
Grammar is solid for the most part, few minor errors here and there. - ShirimeRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0If you're looking for a VR Xianxia LitRPG, this is the story for you. It has a strong lead with a unique path and a clear amount of worldbuilding to look forward to. Despite being a VR world it feels real all its own. It feels fully realized, and I can't wait to see where the author takes this world and its characters!
- __readerbells__Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0So far I have only read 10 chapters but was loving it so much I had to leave a review!
The author shows real potential for this story early on, features unique wording and it is clear they have a flare for creativity. I get the feeling what’s released so far is only a glimpse of what is really to come! The story has so far delved into both worlds and introduced a few different characters that make me want to keep reading to find out what is going to happen next. The grammar, whilst not perfect in the first few chapters, improves as the story goes on and overall doesn’t impact my reading experience.
I’ve been captivated by the MC Azreal from the start. I enjoy reading the internal thoughts so far and they have given me insight into his mind that narrates the story. I’m already cheering for his success, I have a real want for him to shine in this new world (with the help of system who I low key love).
Overall, I’m stoked I found this gem and I’m glad the author is doing the writeathon so I can read more of the story! - LemonoidRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0What do you become when you're driven to the edge? When every part of you is worn away, when your dreams become as ashes, what would you do to achieve them if given the chance?
Reincarnation of The Fallen Prince is, to me, the standard for what a good progression fantasy should include. It has all the classic tropes wrapped up in a well-written exterior.
The story is the strongest on the face of it. The work sticks, for the most part, to your typical progression fantasy formula. Get power. Face challenges. Train. Repeat. And I don't say that as an insult whatsoever. The formula exists because it works, and I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to take that formula and use it as a means to tell your story. I would also note that even then the story isn't afraid to take from other genres. There's a clear mystery element that adds depth to the story and which really distinguishes it from other works.
The grammar is excellent as well. on a technical level, I have very few issues with the story. There was never anything so egregious that it knocked me out of a flow state.
The characters were well-done--if a tad cliche. That's to be expected in a progression fantasy, so I won't harp on about that for too long. I would note, however, that Azreal is high and above the rest of the characters. He's fairly compelling, seeming to have a good (perhaps even naive) heart somewhere down there, despite his power-hungry goals. This makes for an interesting contrast that I don't usually see from progression fantasy MCs.
The stylistic elements were the weakest for me. While the world was engaging and the plot devices used were typical to the genre, I often struggled with some of the literary decisions that were made. Many of the ideas of the story are delivered with almost no subtlety whatsoever. The MC is special, I understand that, and I don't think there's any need to reiterate it form multiple angles.
This lack of subtlety was also visible in how much of the character's - AncientDreamZzRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0Since I’ve only read the first 5 Chapters of this story, things are still in its infancy stage, so my review will solely be based on first impressions and what I think of everything so far.
Overall
I quite enjoy how the author introduced us to the world and main character, I get to see clearly that Azreal was very frail, yet he still has a desire to become someone strong. This drive for power later persisted in the later chapters, which drives the story forward. The novel’s strongest point here, from what 5 Chapters can tell me, is Azreal’s growth. If you enjoy a story where the main character starts out weak and gradually make his way up the ladder, then this xanxia’s definitely worth a try.
Style
The author has their own unique writing style that’s not hard to follow, although I personally think that some more proofreading and word choices could make certain scenes flow better. It doesn’t hinder my reading experience at all if I’m simply following along the story, but as a writer, I can’t help but notice these little details that can be adjusted.
Grammar
I don’t see anything wrong with the grammar, and it’s pretty consistent throughout the chapters. Nothing much to say here.
Story
Since it’s only been 5 Chapters, the story is still building up from its foundations. From the first few chapters, I can see that the author is slowly moving Azreal towards the goal of the plot, and the first “arc” is nicely keeping the reader engaged, wanting to know more about what happen and how the main character would grow stronger.
Character
I find that Azreal, the main character, has a rather odd personality that I sometimes chuckle at his reaction to things. 5 Chapters aren’t enough for me to fully analyze and dissect his true self just yet, so there’s not much I can say about him other than the fact that the author implies he has a strong will.
