- Anita JuliaRoyal Road★★★★ 4.0When an author decides to erase a character's memories, they walk a fine line between reinvention and discard. If well executed, memory loss can be a powerful narrative tool, exploring dilemmas of identity and personal transformation. However, if used abruptly, it can alienate the reader by turning an established character into an empty shell, almost as if they had been "killed off" to make room for a new one. This raises the question: what truly makes us connect with a character—their actions or their memories? I'll keep reading to see how this choice unfolds, but I hope it doesn't become just a convenient device to reset the plot without real consequences.
