Why evolve one monster when you can [evolve] them all?
Ethan Hawke's no stranger to Isekai stories. But now he's in one...as a hat.
A hat that can[Possess]creatures and[Steal]their skills.
Stuck in a world where monsters and hybrids are routinely hunted down and slain, Ethan's got his work cut out for him - especially considering that his System keeps painting a target on his back.
Because he's not just a regular Hat. He's the Archon. The Lord of all demons. The last, best hope for monsterkind.
And he won't stop until he’s become the most OP demon the world’s ever seen.
What to expect:
+ This story features aweak to Godlike OPprogression path.
+ Multi-Evolution! Why evolve one monster when you can steal and upgrade skills from them all? This story takes Ethan from lowly rat to colossal dragon and everything in between.
+ A fun fantasy with some darker moments. Follow Ethan and his party of hybrid-monsters as they clear dungeons, build an empire, and take down a militant order bent on controlling the world.
+ Skills, skills, and more skills plus unique synergies to be unlocked.
+ Multi-Level dungeon delving with loot, special events, and multi-phase Boss fights where the Bosses themselves are the prize.
+ Tense, fast-paced fight scenes in classic LitRPG style interspersed with quieter character moments (no harem)
+ Exploration of Free Will v Determinism is a major theme.
+ Catgirls, rabbitgirls, and Lycan warriors aplenty - fans of Final Fantasy will feel right at home (spoiler: they appear in chapter 9!). System in the story is sentient but not overly sarcastic.

- AryuOcay1Royal Road★★★★★ 5.0This is a great isekai litrpg story. The hero and his friends evolve over time time, not just in strength, but in character. It has the right mix of humor, action, suspense, and emotion. As Ethan learns more about his new world, and finds newer and stronger hosts, we also learn more about his friends and enemies. I’m rooting for him to change the world.
- EarthFireRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0So I started off prepared to not like this, but was I wrong. It swept me up and I have enjoyed reading it non-stop and am now eagerly awaiting the next chapter. Definitely a story I could not put down!
It has character development, drama, and humor.
Not to mention bunnies!
I do not want to say too much as spoilers, but it has definitely been worth the time to write and I might just start reading it all over again to see what today bits I might have missed out on the first go around.
There are times the main character does foolish things, but let's be honest that is in fact the very essence of human nature.
Please do try to look at those moments and ask yourself if you had no prior knowledge of what is going on would you have made any different choices and what possible outcomes could happen from making said choices. I bring this up as people tend to lash out at a lot of good stories as authors tend to write life like scenarios and people get upset that the MC doesn't act perfect making choices. I want this author to know I really like his writing style and to let them know it is appreciated - ShyMaskRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Hello there future Readers!
I'm just a random fan of the "reborn as a Demon Hat" and i said give a shot there actually lot well thought writing that goes into this story, more so than i can give credit for, few stories like this one spark a joy in me that my own works never could so give it a shot, I rather not spoil anything with this review so I'm just rambling go read the book! - KrutoniumRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0A fantastic story, that I am thoroughly enjoying. I r8 8/8 but also for real though. It's well written, following a... Mostly believable MC, who is, as advertised, a *hat*. Which is just fun. I love stories that take themselves seriously enough to not be nonsense, but not so seriously that everything must always make perfect sense. But also, Hat.
Only thing that would make it better would be if the hat figured out how to change what kind of Hat it was. Disguise itself. Infiltrate. - Z4rocRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5I do like this a lot, it's really good, it's funny, there's interesting world building, and the characters are engaging. I just feel that once I got to the 90's I was just a bit tired, like I was slogging through everything else waiting for his next level up or skill increase. It's just me I assure you, I can't stick with very many of these types even though I love the genre.
- shaunwinsorRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5The story is pretty good
Let start with the characters they have emotional depth and even development. Though it might be to early to tell. Also the MC gives up his humanity like a certain tree ;)
The world building is already starting off good with great amounts of LOREEE!
Well it good I recommend - CLANKRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5TL;DR
Fast-Paced.
Great Fight Scenes
Sassy System
Deserved Victories
[OVERALL]
I don't like the MC... or at least, in the beginning, I didn't. It was hard to read this novel at first. Sure, the MC might be relatable to many readers, but with his shitty personality it was a huge turn-off. But then I... I got curious. Curious to know how will he get out of the crappy situation of... you know what, every situation he finds himself in is crappy. Each time I think 'He is a goner. There's absolutely no way he gonna make it.' Author somehow manages to amaze me, that too without using some ass-pull move. Oh, and the fast-paced fight scenes and frequently introduced new skills helped me not drop the book, too.
By the time I reached the end of Book 1, the MC had really grown on me. I had even begun to love the characters that I initially deemed as 2-D or too generic... Almost forgot to talk about the System, it is—No no no no no. I am not going to say anything about it. Read the novel and find out about it on your own. Trust me, you will not be disappointed with what the author did with the system near the end of the Book.
[STYLE]
It's a bit different (not in a bad way) from what I'm familiar with. Especially in how he chose a somewhat flexible progression system for better writing freedom. In this novel I only have a general idea about the strength of the characters and don't absolutely know who is stronger (few exceptions). Which absolutely helps (in my opinion) the author in writing the amazing fight scenes.
The fast pacing of the story leans more towards telling rather than showing, which might (in my opinion) makes it a bit less immersive. But you gain some, you lose some; that's life.
There are a few POV swaps, but they are so few that it's not a problem.
[STORY]
Any story that goes against Established Societal Norms gains a plus one. And a story about going against a God? Another plus one. The author wasn't kidding when he wrote [Exploration of Free Will v Determinism - MamiRoyal Road★★★★★ 4.5Overall pretty well written but it feels a bit rushed. There are parts where main characters actions don't make sense other than advancing the plot
MCs power is skill steal but he doesn't make full use of his ability. Story is character driven but LitRPG aspect of story gets tossed at backburner and it suffers from that. This and general rushed feeling made me took half a star but story is not something that will make you feel like you wasted your time - Royal Reader 2023Royal Road★★★★★ 4.5If you're looking for instant gratification, where the Main Character rapidly becomes superpowered and just starts steamrolling anything, everything, anyone, and everyone who opposes him, builds an empire and gains the unwavering praise of his subjects, you would be better served elsewhere.
Neither is this a story where the MC is constantly struggling to get out from someone's heel only to wind up under a bigger and heavier heel the instant he manages to see sunlight.
Here, the MC has to earn anything and everything, including his own agency. The characters all have depth, the enemies, and everything in between. Even the LitRPG system our MC is stuck with, or the system is stuck with the MC, or both.
There's a fine balance between moments where the MC gets easy victories and finds himself thrust into dire situations where a single false step can end the story then and there, and the victories are earned. Plot armor is minimal. Choices have consequences. Allies and enemies alike have disagreements among their forces.
This is no easy task for a writer. Well done. - Ayden58755Royal Road★★★ 3.0The story was good but I just hate the system it Ruins the whole story for me. If it was an emotionless system that only answered questions it would have been fine, I just hate what was done with the system. Also the characters so far seem one dimensional but the story has recently started so that’s fine, the interactions between the Mac and others could use some work to.
