Reaper Unseen

Description
Ashley Rills was dead. Or at least that’s what she thought once when she was younger. But it turned out the accident that almost killed her gave her a darker but greater purpose. She had always been a rebel. Now she was a rebel with the powers of invisibility and teleportation along with a more hidden dark power that she’s learning about. Like a ghost, she appears before the dark forces she opposes and uses the scythe she carries to carry out her dark justice. She was a dark force all on her own. One that could not be seen coming. One that would slice your head off if you gave her reason to. She was a feared woman. The people on her town seen her as a rebellious troublemaker but she was more than that.
She was a grim force of nature. A new force of death. She had survived death once. Conquered it. Now she was death itself. Death that would deliver the grim fate to the forces that caused problems for her town. She had more problem delivering a judgmental hand. She was the reaper, the judge, and more importantly, the executioner. She was at the top of her game and nothing and no one was going to take that from her. Whether the people liked it or not, she was there to stay and she did things her way.
She was the Unseen Reaper.

- YSKJRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0The story is still a WIP, so I'm keeping that in mind, but structure-wise, this first chapter checks all the right boxes. There's a satisfying mini-arc with the vampire fight, clear and engaging action, and cheeky dialogue that I personally find charming. I like Ashley’s dynamics with the person she saves as well. The setup for the rest of the story is well-established, and Ashley’s personality leaps off the page with an electric, defiant energy that draws me in.
One of the chapter’s biggest strengths is Ashley’s character. Her general “f-you” attitude is compelling and leaves me eager to see whether anyone manages to break through her emotional walls as the narrative progresses. I hope we learn more about her backstory soon—she’s a badass character whose motivations and personal history could add extra layers of depth. The dialogue and character dynamics introduced, especially between Ashley and Rope, feel intriguing, and I’m looking forward to seeing how their relationship evolves.
I also appreciate how the vampires deviate from typical portrayals. Their green, grotesque qualities are refreshingly distinct from the usual flawless, glamorous vampires in many modern gothic web novels. Overall, I’m excited to see how all these elements develop as the story continues. I'm sure it's going to be a banger! - Zamora de LeonRoyal Road★★★★★ 5.0Ashley Rills is here to kick ass. But at what cost?
This story is chockful of action and supernatural elements. Vampires, elves, zombies, goblins--it's an absolutely wild ride, and you never know what the author will bring out next. But interlaced within that is the story of Ashley, a character who is objectively a badass, but also struggling with her closest relationships.
Style: Very easy to read. The author does not waste time and keeps the pacing fast and interesting. I am a slow reader by nature, but breezed through the first couple chapters.
Story: So far, the story has been an insane ride. It is still in its early stages, so the plot hasn't fully taken shape yet, but I already have so many questions waiting to be answered. And good stories always leave you with questions at the beginning!
Grammar: The author does a good job with grammar, save for the occasional typo which did not really bother me. Happens to the best of us, and doesn't detract significantly from the reading experience.
Character: I am torn on Ashley. She seems like a difficult person with a storied past, and it appears that many of her core relationships are in shambles because of something that happened that has not yet been explained. But at the same time, I love a girl who can kick butt and can respect a villainous protagonist. So, I'll have to see how she develops.
Overall, this is a great start, and I'm excited to see how it proceeds.
