Description

Somewhere in the desert, a dragon egg stirs...

Once a physicist with a promising academic career, Drew is suddenly reborn into a new world full of deadly creatures, where every day is a fight for survival. Winning fights is a lot easier if you have the powers of an apex predator at your disposal...but it'll be a long journey to reach that point. A freshly-hatched dragon can only do so much.

Drew has always considered violence a last resort. Why turn to fists (or claws) when a more thoughtful and creative solution might be possible? But bloodless pacifism isn't exactly an option in a world of obligate carnivores, and the choice is often one between eating and being eaten. If a life of quiet contemplation and study is still within reach, it will be a long road to get there.

Re: Dragonize is a LitRPG progression fantasy starting with a protagonist who must start at the bottom (or close to it), and work gradually upwards, making incremental progress with plenty of setbacks along the way. The protagonist, as someone coming from the world of academia, tends to be cautious, methodical, and contemplative.

This is a very fun and interesting read. It's got an interesting litrpg mechanic and the effects being able to gain new skills and rapidly adapt would have on an ecosystem.
The grammar is very good and the plot is interesting. Due to the nature of the story, other characters aren't introduced for a while, but they're also interesting.
The only bad news is that now I'm tempted to try eating ants. Their description made them sound tasty!

Ferocious lil cutie, much like other alt path Iseakia's the novelty is really nice.
slow burn so far, im not a patreon so only caught up to RR.
    Insta-add to the favorites list.
Each chapter is meaningful a 'whole'.
Leaves teh reader wanting to read more.
Plus common look at him just a lil cutie.

Overall, I enjoy this story.  The isekai and written style is neither bland nor over-complicated and it follows the formula well without going too slow or fast.  Chapter release rate is haphazard, leaning toward slow.  Grammar is impeccable, or it goes beyond my notice at the least.
The main character is extremely annoying.  Prior to gaining the capacity to speak, I thought he simply had his head in the clouds too much, waning philosophical to the point of self-injury.  Still, that's the sort of thing that gets easily stomped out since the character is in a survival scenario and is near the bottom of the food chain.
Instead, he manages to find Octavia, who provides him with the security necessary to not adapt.  Worse yet, he gains the capacity to speak, and he reveals himself to be the "um ackshually" meme, personified.  It's like the character is determined to have a philosophical debate or mention some useless factoid at least once per chapter, phrased in a somewhat-argumentative way between himself and Octavia.
Such individuals tend to be abrasive or insufferable to listen to, and since Octavia seems to be willing to pay the price for companionship, it leaves the reader with no champion to slap the stupid out of the character for doing it.

Good pathing, interesting universe, decent characterisation of the MC. Really cool, really dragon.
Except you don't get the mc to actually be dragon, you get all the build up. The adventures here and there. But it's for naught.. Because it's drop when everything get interesting. Such a shame but here go life. Thx you autor for the story 😘

While this novel have a good start the premise is good Grammer is good all is alright until u advance enough then the blabbering starts the MC and author drone on and on about irrelevant topics and overcomplicate even the most of the simplest tasks it becomes a drag to read .

I love monster progression fiction, it is probably my favorite genre on RoyalRoad. I came into this story reading all of the warnings. I knew the fic was going to be a SLOW burn. I knew the MC was going to be hyper analytical and probably on the autism spectrum.
What i wasnt ready for was how unrelentingly condescending he became the second he made a friend he could communicate with. The MC is a classic "I know how everything works" kind of guy, and is very happy to shove that down his companions and the readers throat. It even feels like the author enables this kind of behavior by dumbing down supporting characters and developing situations in a way that the MC is almost always right. He is seemingly very confident about his biological and ecological knowledge (despite repeatedly saying he didn't spend much time learning biology in the past), despite reincarnating in a world that shares very few rules with the original earth. His social shortcomings could conceivably stem from his autism, but personally i found it to be a draining perspective to read through.
Perhaps I am being to harsh and the MC will grow in the future, I think I am going to move onto greener pastures.

Gave the story a 3/5 over all. The style and grammar are great. No complaints there. The story is told in a consistent and easy way to understand that also keeps it interesting. The author takes great detail in describing the world around the MC and discovering the processes that make it work. This does make a very slow story (as I’ll address later) but also adds to its charm. A lot of the real world implications of finding yourself in another world as a weak monster as fully explored here. How difficult it is to survive. How dangerous the unknown is. It leads to interesting solutions to real problems. The world is truly explored rather than told to us.
This is the story’s biggest flaw as well. The author mentions in the prologue that the MC is cautious and contemplative. And that the story reflects that as a slow burn. However nothing can prepare you for how tedious this story is. It is by far the slowest story I’ve read on the site for this genre. Sometimes as much as 6-8 pages of inner dialogue can be spent per chapter on very trivial and seemingly useless ideas and decisions. This also leads to very frustrating decisions from the MC that should be obvious. The content in this story could be cut in half, and then half again, and it would not affect the plot. But if you’re willing to to overlook the slow pace of the story is is a fun read.

The book has an interesting premise but sufferers from an overwhelming amount of introspection at the hands of the MC. I found myself spending an almost equal amout of time reading and skipping paragraphs because it just got boring. There is more introspection than anything else put together and beyond often stating the obvious and getting quite boring it slows the pace to a crawl.

If the MC were a person, he would starve to death while deciding whether or not to open the fridge to get food.  The character rants about every conceivable scenario before taking any action, and even then will give you a rehearsal on anything he sees that isn't even related to whatever he's doing.
While the concept of transmigrating to a world with video game laws isn't new, just the idea of the main character being a dragon already made it appealing to me.  Unfortunately I didn't manage to read more than a few chapters before I started hating the story.
Another aspect that I find difficult to accept is that the main character pretends to act in an intelligent and rational way but ignores the most common or logical steps to follow in certain situations.
Which gives the impression that the main character is working with prior knowledge about the universe in which he finds himself. The author should put himself more in the reader's shoes and not take it for granted that the MC and the reader share his unique view of the world. This is additionally confusing when in the most basic situations the MC goes on at length to mention every possible scenario when evidently most of them have no chance of occurring.
This may be explained in the future or justified in some way, but for the moment it only makes the story even less captivating and detracts from its credibility.
I might give it a chance again later if I see positive comments about the change in the story. I think it could have potential if the writing style is changed or at least if the main character evolves and stops being so annoying.
CONCLUSION: Read this only if you like extremely slow stories where the action is practically non-existent and each chapter consists almost exclusively of an exposition of the main character's thoughts.

You can skipp ~50% of writen text with out missing any important information. This isn't slow paced, it more in reversed gear. Which is sad, since the author has their way with words. I n e e d t o f i l the m i n i mum. Sry
