Description

QueerSpace - An Episodic Anime set in Outer Space!Individuality is embraced on the frontiers of space, and conformity is shunned. No group flaunts this fact more than those known as Genetics. Each unique and one-of-a-kind, a Genetic is a human being on the inside, despite their outward appearance.A genetically reconstructed human being who looks like a lion or tiger or bear.Oh my.Mankind has terraformed dozens of planets, moons and asteroids across the Milky Way, creating plants and animals for each new environment by splicing bits of DNA together. While perfecting their craft, bioengineers realized these self-same techniques could be used on people as well. Now, just like getting a tattoo or having a body piercing, a person can have animal DNA inserted into their genome to make a statement about who they are. This is making the life of an all-human bounty hunter named Maybell extremely difficult. It doesn't help that she's sexually delectable, and a wee bit crazy. If only she didn't smell like fish. 🐟QueerSpace is a tale told in an Episodic format, where each Episode is written as if there were a thirty second teaser at the beginning, followed by five or six chapters of about ten minutes reading time, making for an hour-long show. In them, Maybell lives with the fact that, despite her loathing, she likes having genetically altered humans as lovers and friends.

Her life on a dismal mudball moon gets turned on its end when an old flame comes calling ---- A horse named Sara Jane. 🦄

This story is not for everyone. The reason, I am sadly not brave enough to say to the world due to how sensitive the topic could be. So, I'll simply say: depending on the your preference, this story might be for you.
This story does not fit my preference (honestly, I underestimated the profanity and sexual content tag), but all in all this story is good.
    Style:
I like the direct writing style that the story has. As someone with low attention span, I find that I didn't have any issue in getting into the story as the premise is clear from the beginning. Also, as far as I have read (which is till the end of episode 1), there are images in the story which ends up supporting the writing. Personally, I liked the monocycle art at the beginning (and my two cents: that might attract more readers if used as fiction cover, but hey that's just me).
    Story:
Sci-fi story, with space. It has its own specialty with the whole genetic reconstruction stuff. Plot-wise, I don't think I've gotten into the main plot yet(?) I say that this story is chill because it has itself a plot and a conflict though not major that appeared and ended in episode one, rather similar to tv series kind of story.
    Grammar score:
Honestly, I didn't spot any grammar error that breaks the immersion for me. It uses simple language that is clear.
    Character score:
I think the character is well written in the sense that the main character has her own personality and depending on reader's perspective could be an enjoyable character to follow. She doesn't strike me as flat, but, perhaps it's just me, I didn't spot a clear motivation from her (Example of what I mean as clear motivation: maybe the mc would like to become the best bounty hunter, or have vengeance story or the sort). I'm not saying that not having that kind of clear motivation is bad, I'm just saying this so that potential readers will know what they're getting into: chill episodic story that is enjoyable to follow. (Personally, I don't think this is the

This writing will not be for everyone, but I really enjoyed it. A good deal of tongue-in cheek humour, vivid imagery and jiggle physics. The world pops to life quickly and moves forward nicely.
Don't take it too seriously and you will have a blast. Reminds me of Heavy Metal (Movie).
    My favourite line
At least, in as much pain as a genetically engineered water buffalo with spider and tyrannosaurus rex DNA in it could feel pain.

I had no idea what to expect when I started to read this it being totally outside of my usual fair but I was pleasantly surprised.
If I were to describe this story it's sort of a western sci-fi hybrid with some smut thrown in for fun. The main character is a fiery redhead who seems to be of low moral fiber and extremely capable. The rest of the cast consists of people who have augmented themselves with the DNA of a variety of animals causing them to take on the characteristics of those animals.
All and all I enjoyed it and if you don't mind some spice you probably will too so give it a try it's a quick read and I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Read this and had a good time with it. The opening chase is super cinematic and easy to picture, and the bull-rex idea plus the laser-wire kill is just plain fun. Maybell’s voice is consistent too, and the worldbuilding lands naturally through how casual everyone is about bioengineered monsters.
The only spot where I had to pause for half a second is in the store scene when the banter gets rapid-fire and you’ve got several short lines in a row with no tags or action beats. I can still figure it out, but a couple quick “Gavin wiped his hands” or “Maybell kicked at the dirt” type beats would keep it grounded and remove any tiny confusion.
One other small thing: the “slump and frown and look sexy again” bit starts to feel a little repetitive and author-y. Not a dealbreaker, just something I noticed.
Overall, though, strong pulpy vibe, good momentum, and the dialogue is lively. I’d keep reading. It shows you're quite experienced and you've written a lot.
