Description

After 60 years of fighting and losing a war against extra- terrestrial threats in the form of  monsters pouring from rifts and buoyed only by the presence of the System, Mankind's defenders, the Hunters launch a desperate vicious counter attack and win but not without serious casualties.

The hero of humanity and the number one Hunter delivers the killing blow to the Overseer but has his throat ripped out in a revenge stroke. Bleeding out and struggling to speak, the hero of humanity dies, his blood flowing onto what would come to be called the blood drenched fields.  And with his death and the slaying of the Overseer, the all powerful system departs, leaving humanity as the victors. It was over.

With resources abundant in the form of monster cores containing abundant energy and rare metals never before seen, mankind finally has a chance to rebuild and they look to their Hunters for guidance.  But there was a problem.

The Hunters once touted as the Saviours and Stewards of humanity broke after the departure of the system, to lose all that power and the protection the system offered to the hunters minds was too much for most.

The powers that were, rise up in the power vacuum and create the Global Defense Force a multinational institution that now governed the world.

Powerless after the departure of the all powerful system, the hunters are swept aside and left behind. Feeling betrayed, the few functioning Hunters rise up and are firmly and viciously put in their place by ordinary men and women wielding weapons built from the Hunters past kills.

At 13, Dorian was chosen by the system as a Hunter and was on the blood drenched fields the day Hunters won humanity it's victory. An insignificant level 5 fighter fighting among monsters and gods in human guise. And yet somehow he survived. Thinking his future is set, Dorian watches in horror as the legends of humanity broke and were cast aside by the very people they bled and died for. Eleven years later, the fear of the system and it's monsters ever returning is all but a distant thought. The GDF is reclaiming vaste swathes of land from the remaining monsters and Hunters have become a relic of the past and are on the very bottom rung of society.

A surprise discovery by Dorian hints at the very real possibility that the system was never done with earth. After all in a game after the prologue comes the main game, devoid of instructions.

Great start and a story with consept I have not heard of before. I was not sure how having a world that got a System and after some time the System disappearing, was going to be told. At least for the first 10 chapters, great writing and storytelling. I am already attached to and feeling for the main character and his friends while hating the 'bad guys'. I am drooling for more chapters!

I'll update when I catch up to the latest release but it's really well written and has sucked me in. Only dropping a review like this to help the author seriously it's good, well written, world building is great, and the characters are easily relatable not flat or stilted. Anyway I'm going back in. 🤣👍 well turns out I was only a chapter away from catching up. Ugh seriously good so far can't wait for more.

The story has an interesting plot along with character building, making the story believable; the pacing taking place in the chapters is adequate to keep me interested. I cannot say much about grammar as I struggle with writing. Heck, I had a hard time getting to fifty words to post this review.

Found this story and read all the way through the current chapter published. So far, at six chapters in, I'm thoroughly enjoying it. Probably my favorite genre of litRPG/GameLIT is that of the system apocalypse. Most of the time however, that type of story starts with the integration. This story is a fresh take on the genre, with a setting centered years after not just the integration, but the fall of the system as well.
In terms of grammar, there are some mistakes. A few misspelled words, extra punctuation or missing punctuation, and a few sentences that could be better structured. Overall, this can be considered an excellent first draft.
The style of writing is so far par for the course. Nothing too bad or unusual, but also nothing to shout about.
Overall, it's the world building I'm most excited about. Some thing about the idea of a shattered world after the rise and fall of a system peaks my interest.
While I'm not entirely sure what the future holds for our main character, the journey itself will be an interesting one to watch I feel.
Regardless,I will continue to read as long as the chapters keep coming. After some time, I'll probably come back to edit this review, so we'll see if my initial thoughts have changed any then.

Honestly? I really like how this story is going so far.
Not much posted yet (only reason it's not 5 stars) but I really have a good feeling about this one.
For those who don't mind spoilers...
My favorite part of this though? Is that after the system left the world now seems to becoming like a cultivation world.
Which in my opinion is a great place to take a system ruined world.
Anyway I'll definitely be back for this book when there is more to it
