The story piqued my interest from the start, especially Roger Hill's notes regarding Jeremiah Stoudemire's grotesque Blessing. (Blessing is the term for superpowers in this world.) Usually, stories about young superheroes in training focus on kids with weak powers, keeping strong powers in check, or kids with no powers. However, "Project Hero" is a story in which the lead has to accept that his powers gave him a less-than-ideal body/face. This is an interesting take on the young superhero genre; teenagers already have it rough trying to fit in, so now imagine having a power that gives you frog-like features. Brutal.
As a fan of comic books, I've seen countless powers and grown bored with most. However, the abilities in this book seem interesting so far, like Ashley's Color-kinesis. Her ability gives her telekinesis (the standard moving things with your mind), but the things she interacts with must match a color, which changes once she sleeps.
The story is interesting and I can't wait to see what comes next.

Hello, I'm new to Royalroad but I wanted to share my thoughts on this charming series and what it does good, and anything I can think of it does bad.
For starters, something every single book has is characters, and though every character has a personality you could find in a different book, all of the characters being together can bring out the best of these stereotypes. My personal favorites are Roger and Isaac due to their charming personalities, but being able to dial back when they really need to. The only problem I see character wise is that a bunch of new students where introduced at once, but the more you read as they are introduced, the better it gets for me. Their easy to remember names makes it manageable and I really love every single one so far.
The other main big part, the idea of blessings being superpowers that you see in other stories with interesting spins, brings out some of the coolest and unique opportunities for story writing. Chapters 23 and 24 are the best demonstration of this and I'd love to see more twists like this in the future with mixes of blessings from different people and the characters outthinking their blessings! There are no issues I see with how the blessings work with the story, it just fits perfectly for this genre.
One last small thing I want to point out is that most of the story has been one dimensional so far with the characters having an obstacle, and facing it. I would love to see a more chill chapter where all the characters learn to connect with each other, since we’ve only seen the all together in class or training. I also am antsy to get my hands on more of the side story of Roger and the Director, since not much was revealed besides more questions for the reader.
Overall, the whole story is good with only tiny potholes of mistakes that can only get filled with more the time and effort that is being put in this literature work, and personally for my taste the story is just a touch to slow.

    Style:
The style is one of the highlights so far. It never takes itself too seriously, though it does give the characters genuine flaws and conflict. The superpower system, called Blessings, is a unique blend of magic and real-world restrictions. For example, Ashley’s powers of colour telekinesis set up a number of unique problems for the characters to solve.
    Story:
The story, while not entirely unique, is a fun and exciting adventure. There have been lots of books about characters going to school to learn how to manage their powers, but not a ton with powers so specific that it’s hard to imagine a use for them.
This is definitely the first time I’ve read about a superhero who can vomit out his own stomach!
    Grammar:
For the most part, the grammar is pretty good, although there are a few minor issues throughout. Overall, nothing to pull the reader out of the story.
    Characters:
The characters are fun and colourful, very reminiscent of a cartoon or anime. They will react in over-the-top ways that occasionally feel like caricatures rather than real people. Well, I think this approach works and is often entertaining to read. I feel like there are a few situations where it feels a bit too cartoonish, which takes the reader out of the story. An example of this is:
In chapter three, when Roger Hill dangles Ashley’s phone out of reach. From previous descriptions of Roger Hill, it feels hard to believe that he would tease one of his students in this fashion
    Overall:
This is an entertaining read that I plan to keep up with. I’m excited to see the different, unique situations that the author is going to put the characters in for them to make use of their “miscellaneous” powers.

Great characters with all of them receiving their due attention, a story with potential, a fast pace while maintaining the cohesion of the story are some of the points that caught my attention in this story. I hope to be able to read much more of this.

The story doesn't feel rushed, but the characters feel as though they are somewhat difficult to tell apart.
The lore of the world is well explained and in a highly organic fashion that doesn't feel forced at all.
The premise of the story is well done and the usage of the world's abilities is clear and understandable, easily allowing readers to understand the power system.
It can be somewhat difficult to see who's point of view is being followed.
Overall: Good Story, has a lot of potential and I'm interested to see how things play out.

"Project Hero" follows Jeremiah Stoudemire as he unexpectedly is enrolled in what is considered the most prestigious school around, Myriad High. Known for producing T.H.R.O.N.E agents - heroes with blessings used in combat and rescue operations. It is not only a shock to his fellow classmates but to Jeremiah himself that he was granted such a rare opportunity given his blessing is not all that glamorous. But the thing about blessings is that sometimes it takes a miracle to see just how amazing they are. That miracle being Roger Hill, head instructor at Myriad High.
He does not embark on this journey alone as we meet a cast of interesting and eccentric characters such as the ever relaxed Isaac Lopez and the glam queen herself, Ashley Baker. They along with Jeremiah are all under the tutelage of Roger Hill, who seeks to make this cast of unwanted characters into heroes worthy of being agents of T.H.R.O.N.E.
Although I enjoyed my time reading this story, it felt a bit one dimensional in its presentation as the obstacles faced by Jeremiah and the cast so far have not done much to push them in any meaningful way. Although this could easily be attributed to it just being the beginning of the story and the authors wanting to take their time with diving deeper into the world.
There is still much to offer in the first 10 chapters that I liked such as the powers these characters possess or Blessings as they are called. It is clear that the authors put a lot of time and effort into them, doing their best to make create unique quirks and have them represent each character in their own way. The highlight is easily the introduction of new characters as you look forward to how their Blessings work and how Jeremiah and the rest of his unlikely friends handle what comes their way.
All in all if you are a fan of comic books, My Hero Academia, or urban fantasy stories in general you will certainly enjoy this story quite much! These authors are building a vibrant and interesting story!
