Description

Elijah never expected a monster to appear at his school and attack the students, let alone get killed by it. He also never expected to get Isekai'd as a Princess. Now he has woken up as the heir to the Advantian throne, and with it, he must start a new life. One filled with political turmoil, new friends, magic, danger, and a healthy dose of monsters. He is just Level One, but he must level up quickly if he intends to survive for long. Can he trust those around him enough to help him? Or will he suffer at the hands of the incoming battles?

What readers say about Princess Gold (LitRPG, Isekai, Gender Bender, Royalty) (Wonnered the Writathon April 2025)

  • Elijah is possibly the most hair wrenchingly infuriating MC I have read this year. Dumber than a box of rocks with no problem solving skills of his own, no redeeming features, no advantages, no charm, just base sophist wit of the banal modern. The only time…

  • But you're a guy, and they don't let guys be princesses (so unfair!). Well, now you can. A charming tale that's sort of a cross between "Quantum Leap" and a "Princess Maker" Isekia. And it's got snappy dialog... What more could you ask for? My one critique…

Elijah is possibly the most hair wrenchingly infuriating MC I have read this year. Dumber than a box of rocks with no problem solving skills of his own, no redeeming features, no advantages, no charm, just base sophist wit of the banal modern. The only times he makes good decisions are Mental/Social Skill Enhanced. He's the absolute worst. Especially in those early chapters I found myself praying that he would sacrifice himself to put Guide Amanda back in the driver seat of her own damn body. I was tormented, begging why I couldn't just read the story about the characters in Advantia without him.
Which just goes to show you how good an author FireinBlood actually is!
See, I kept reading. Because of the quality of character, the desire to know more about everyone who ISN'T Elijah, the desire to know more about the world and its peoples, the desire to see Einar's triumph, to see Thomas betrayal (absolutely inevitable, well foreshadowed from the very first meeting), to see more of Queen Mother.
Then it struck me. The fact that Elijah is enraging was ultimately engaging. It takes skill to thread that line. Mad respect to the Author.
    My only pain points are:
I think my own 16 year old little brother would do better in Elijah's place.
Not arresting and interrogating people who OBVIOUSLY know too much.
Not using Thomas' refusal to tell the truth as an excuse to break up. I would have kicked his ass to the curb SO fast after visiting the Penrose. It's so shady and stinky. I am unironically shocked that Guide Amanda can't see it even with hearts in her eyes.

A charming tale that's sort of a cross between "Quantum Leap" and a "Princess Maker" Isekia. And it's got snappy dialog... What more could you ask for?
My one critique is that the first bit, the first half of the first chapter, is a bit violent. But that's just my own personal taste, so I can't knock it for that.
Anyway if you like genderbending Isekias, give this a try!

I'm really trying to find the protagonist likable in some way, but unfortunately, I just can't manage it.
Elijah behaves like a complete idiot. As understandable as his negative reaction to the body swap is, I think he should at least try to adapt to his situation and behave inconspicuously. Instead, he stumbles from one embarrassing situation to the next, even though all he has to do is listen to his guide... which he doesn't even begin to do.
